That might be a way to tank the coins value a bit and then horde a lot at a low price. I feel the BTC is the same way with the "lawsuit".

There's lots of money to made in LTC trading.  Why would they turn it down?

People should not listen to the troll box on BTC-e. Too much fear, uncertainty and doubt is spread from there.

Lol... So a dude with two posts on that forum comes on and says there are rumors that they aren't adding LTC and doesn't site a source?  I'm going to guess he got his well informed info from the btc-e troll box.

Litecoin is specifically addressed in their latest announcement as can be seen here:
https://mtgox.com/pdf/20130424_ddos_statement_and_faq.pdf

Stop spreading FUD.  With the latest news of this lawsuit.  It would be in Goxs' best interest to get LTC trading going as soon as possible to raise some more money for the suit.

I am now dumber for reading that thread.  Thanks.

It'll go on there. I reckon they will wait for their new trading engine to launch first though which could take a while

It doesn't have to add lag, they can run it on other servers or even in another data centre.

Users on BTC-E seems to be convinced that Mt Gox has enough problems now so LTC will not be added.

dani: is it true that Mt Gox will not add LTC trade ?

w8emz: debating whether or not I should buy BTC now, or wait a bit in hopes itll come back down some... hmm. Any ideas?

bushstar: I do wonder if BFL will ever manage to produce a 1.5TH minirig

Chade: yes

kauhywka: dani, yes

Um, who cares what they spout?  You are only trying to spread FUD by citing a troll box.

You can read the litecoin announcement from Gox here:

In my other thread where I posted Gox's direct answer to me via Twitter, they said that YES they will be adopting other crypto-currencies, however they don't have a timetable at the moment. So, judge for yourself how long that might be.

I suppose monday we will find out if the lawsuit will be affecting their schedule at all.

more or less retired.

So your hypothesis is Coinlab is suing Mt.Gox for 75 million dollars, crossing their fingers the price will drop, and then the people "in on it" will buy btc at the lower price?

Hasn't worked out too well in the past 24 hours I'd say.  People don't seem to be taking Coinlab's side either, nor are they happy to see this news in the first place.  I'm not so sure the a company that stands to potentially make some huge profits just as things are would want to risk their reputation just for a one time btc purchase.

Just my take in it.

The schedule is unknown, I don't see how the lawsuit will matter. However I have little faith Gox can really add to their exchange. They have more problems than they know what to do with now.

If LTC does not get added its cuz Gox is too incompetent. They know its a good idea.

Gox will likely drag their feet on this as with most things but it will happen.

In the meantime Kraken is planning on adding LTC and NMC after first launch.  We've been beta testing it and it's an impressive trading platform.
