Hi all.  Having a load of trouble getting started mining.

I have installed LTC Client and Wallet, and signed up for a mining pool - and installed ScryptMiner.  It launches fine, I entered the provided server address, worker name and password, then pressed 'start mining' - but it never seems to connect, no mining occurs.

Someone suggested I try GUI Miner Scrypt instead - I downloaded it and extracted the files - but when I run it I get an error message - "Errors occured - see the log file 'C:xxx...' for details".

The log reads:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "guiminer.py", line 18, in <module>
  File "pyopencl\__init__.pyo", line 4, in <module>
  File "pyopencl\_cl.pyo", line 12, in <module>
File "pyopencl\_cl.pyo", line 10, in __load
ImportError: DLL load failed: The specified module could not be found.

I'm trying to CPU mine on a Windows 7 64bit system.  Intel chip (so assuming AMD driver updates to be no help).  Thanks for any responses.

I use cgminer, and havent had any problems so far.

Your log looks like it is missing a DLL or a DLL failed to register.

Thanks.  Any idea how I might fix it?  I've tried downloading / re-installing.

I agree. I've had no problems with cgminer.

I suck.  I can't even get that to download from the links in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=28402.0

if you  use CPU miner,

you can use LTC client directly, with minerd.exe.

if you want to do GPU miner,  cgminer is a good choice.

I would be CPU mining.  Sorry, can you provide or link to instruction for how to 'use minerd.exe with the LTC client'?

Thank you for the replies about CGMiner.  I've downloaded it.

At the URL prompt, I'm entering "pooledbits.com:8337" - the info provided by the pool.  But, the program goes no further.  What I am I doing wrong?
