Hello,

I've succeeded to built stable 10 GPU rig on MSI RX 580 cards using Ubuntu 16.04(4.4.x kernel) and 17.10 drivers. (Asus Z270P + 2 splitters, disabled sound and serial in BIOS and enabled 4g)
But the problem is in power consumption(~200W per card on solo mining on modded bios) and hashrate(25MH only). Afaik there is no possiblity to increase mem frequency and downvolt cards in Linux and the only way is to flash the bios with fixed GPU/mem frequency and voltage.  Does anybody have such expirience? It it too risky? I'm ready to donate some coins for useful suggestion or help in this question

Best regards,
Serge

Check this thread, and you will find google drive document with user tested settings, take settings that produced higher hashrate with less power usage and with no mem errors.
Download polaris editor, backup your ROM, and then edit it;

copy 1750 strap to 2000, and then , under gpu settings copy voltage settings taken from the document above, flash the new rom, restart, and you should be good to go.
If the info is correct, you should have about 29 mh on 80 w per card, but this info is not mine so i dont know if it is correct. Anything you do with flashing is on your responsability tho.

I am on 30mh on rx480 on cca 80w, but dont have any rx580's.

Best regards,
Serge

I have windows installed on a SSD. I build the rig, boot windows, update all the vbios, shut down, plug in the ubuntu 16.04 drive, test stability / hashrate... rinse.. repeat..

It's annoying not being able to flash in linux.. But it only really adds some extra time.

If you want help send me a PM; I can help you on skype. My RX 580's are doing 27.25/600 ETH/SC at 120W -- I was only able to use the 1750 strap, the 1500 strap is unstable on my RX580s. My RX570s on the other hand are doing 30.5/300 ETH/SC with the 1500 strap at around 120W as well.
