My piecoin staking doesn't seem to work properly now.
2 times of staking has been well i think. but after that, there has been no staking until now .

How should i do to fix wallet for staking well?

PS : my national time is UTC+9.

Hello everybody at this great Pie community,

after being absent for a while and read all the posts here, now I would like to tell you all what I found out:

There were problems with people getting connections with a fresh wallet a lot of times in the last two weeks. It seems that in most cases they got a connection eventually.
But having no connection for one or two days is really painful and should not happen.

I think I found out the reason for this problem:

At first:
The actual wallets at first try to connect to six 'hardcoded' IPs to get a connection to the PIE network and download the blockchain.
These IPs have been hardcoded by me for all the actual wallets at piecoin.info or piecoin.net some time ago. Please do NOT use wallets from piecoin.tech!

Now the problem:
PieCoin wallet has a hardcoded limit of 125 connections which I found out today...
I am running two 'masternodes' (in the meaning of static, reliable nodes) and I saw that they both were at 125 connections.

That means that all of this six static servers are about to have had 125 connections the last two weeks. And it explains the problems which many people had.
They simply got no connection because all of the static servers were full!

And the (quick) solution:
I did a restart of my static PieCoin Linux server wallets with the option -maxconnections=200

Now there are 191 connections and it's going to be tight again soon.
I'll soon restart with 300. We have a really great network

The mid term solution:
The code has to be changed a bit and new wallets have to be made.
I will try to do that as a mid-term solution, wallet 1.0.0.4 will be the version.
And this time the version number of the wallet in the net will fit the name of the file/app.
(Sorry about 1.0.0.3 still complaining to be 1.0.0.2 - I know this leads to confusion but could not find a way these days back to alter the version number)

Long term: we will see what comes with the masternode update in the future. The connectivity for new users has to be always possible!

Ok, there is so much going on about PIE, I just can't believe it.
But I am concentrating on building new, stable wallets - before some masternode update will come.

I love PIECOIN because of the staking but I recently found something with better returns... Ember coin EMB has 720% annual staking rewards for another 2 years. It's on cryptopia. Site is embercoin.io

If you are running a piecoin.tech wallet and you have connections and you are synchronized with the blockchain there is no instant need to do anything for now.

But if you want to update your wallet (this has be to be done by many users in the future when new features are implemented) you just need to replace the wallet executable (don't know your system). If the executable has been replaced/updated it should be possible to read your current wallet.dat file. But please make sure that you do a BACKUP of your wallet.dat before doing the update.

Nice to see you back Pikku. The reason I invested in Pie Coin a while back was because of you. Can't wait for the new wallets and masternodes.  Grin

When the original dev left this project it was Pikku who kept Piecoin alive. Thanks Pikku for the updates.

Hey guys,

I found this coin after research for a while, and I like it.
I bought 210 PIE today, but I will buy more shortly.

I want to know, if with that amount I could stake some PIEs or just when I have like... 10k PIE?

Best Regards

Great! I think that staking below 10k PIE takes quite a while.

In the wallet you have the staking icon to the bottom left. There you will find your weight, network weight, and time to expected payout.
Since the network weight differs from time to time, it's not that accurate but still an indication when to receive a reward.

reward for 3k today may be like 3-5 days.
