Some/Most large Exchanges have a "recent trades list". Each trade will appear as either "sell" or "buy" ... but what designates the trade as a "sell" or "buy" .. since each trade operation will always include both operations performed by the two parties. ?!?!

good question!
i just checked some orders that i had on a small exchange and based on the history i have to say the "market history" section lists the type of trades that happened not the type of order that was open.
if means if you go and buy something from the orderbook it will be listed as a buy in the history although you filled an already open (sell) ask order.
and if you sell something to an open buy (bid) order then it will be listed as a sell in history.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.
