Hi. Is it still worth to buy a GPU for mining? I'm looking to buy just 1 GPU. Looking to spend around 300 eur. RX 580/GTX 1060
GTX 1070 are 400-500 eur here in local stores
What do you think?

yes, buy the 1070 if you can find it second hand, it's really worth it, one single gpu cna do $200+ a month now, so you would get your money back in just less than 2 months, if this si not good i don't know what it is

Okay, so if I buy in second hand, how do I get sure is good enough for mining? If I dont find any GTX 1070, will a GTX 1060 6GB be good enough? I can get a Gigabyte GTX1060 WF OC 6GB for 300eur

What are you mining with it? Do you mine multiple algos at the same time?

Whatever you buy (580/1070) you'll get your money back in less than 2 months. At that point Vega cards will have been released or will be very close to release. Sell the card then and buy a Vega GPU.

You mean I have to listen to the noise and pay attention to the miner for 2 months just to make a few hundred bucks. Ridiculous Hardly a get Rich quick setup, dont know why People bother, Guess they are hoping for that 100x rise in price on an Exchange.

Hey guys, I'm a complete noob when it comes to mining (at least real mining, I "mined" for BTC about three or four years ago on my laptop and almost crashed it). I've been reading through this forum and apparently CPU's are a thing of the past and GPU's are better for mining now correct?
Also, @emoclaw you mentioned the release of Vega GPU. Would it be best to just wait for it's release and buy that instead of purchasing some other GPU?

If Your plan is to mine Bitcoin With a GPU, that you can forget. Negativ profits unless you have free power.

imo since you're a beginner you should get an nvidia card and fire it up, see if mining is for you, AMD cards are much harder to find currently, waiting for vega id economically a loss, by the timr vega is in stores you could have paid off half or more of your gpu, you should get a gtx 1070 (or a 1080ti if you can afford them) or if these options are expensive get a gtx 1060 3gb, its a fine card that mines really well and is not expensive at all.
