What are TestNet Coins? :s

There are the experimental network of bitcoin. It is already in every standard bitcoin client- you just need to change one setting in your  config file and you run on the Bitcoin Test net, instead of the mainline bitcoin chain. In the testnet all  the really cool features that Satoshi had envisioned are enabled for testing. They are normally disabled in regular Bitcoin because they are too experimental. In my opinion they are the true "alt-coin".

So no one has testnet bitcoins they are willing to sell? Really? Everyone loaded up on CNC FTC TCF TRC BAR >>>> whatever else? No one else is mining the chain that EVERY SINGLE BITCOIN USER has built into their client already? Wow.

There is no sense to buy it, because testnet chain can be restarted in any moment. But I'm agree, BTC testnet better than this ones.

It could be restarted at any moment, but they can't stop me from still using the testnet I'm on. Smiley

Still looking! If no one wants to sell them, at least donate them. :-)

How they restart it without making everyone switch to newer version of Bitcoin client?

Well that's exactly what they would do. Change the genesis block in the next version of the client. However, It wouldn't be hard just to fork bitcoin, merge all new patches to bitcoin and just keep the genesis block the same. I'd like to do some experiments with bitcoin testnet.

At least testnet Bitcoins actually have Devs. Versus all these coins with a) no Devs and b) no value at all anyway.

I at least can stay on my own bitcoin testnet if I so choose and still have the best set of Dev's out there.

I have 5650 and will give them to you for 0.0565 BTC.  I won't be able to get to the machine that has this wallet for about 8 hours from now, so no hurry.

I know my testnet faucet is being drained quite a lot. I wonder if it has to do with you wanting to buy testnet Bitcoins...
