I am mining well with up to 5 RX 480 GPU-s in a few boards I have running (not alone but with friends).
Now I am thinking to build 2 boards only for me with Nvidias and my budget is limited to 6 X GTX 1070 plus 2x GTX 1060 Or 12 GTX 1060 (3GB)
I want to ask a few recommendations which brand is best for this job and of course which brand has the better cooler. Palit sucks , 90% fan and it runs over 70 grade celsius so is out of the question.
I am thinking about MSI, EVGA or GIGABYTE (don't want to mess with the Asus STRIX, heard they have problem mining).
Thanks to all who will share their idea.

asus and palit are the best for me, i would suggest also to not go with 1060 i think 1070 and 1080 are betetr option now, they have better density if you have a small farm, you would save on the other components

Go with 1070's they seem to be the best middle ground of the Nvidia Lineup. I have 2 1070FE 4 card rigs and they are doing .035BTC on zpool.ca using nemosminer bat file (Remember auto exchange pools can take 48-72 hours to show you a real average payout).

After some studies I conduct it appears I will go with 12 Nvidia GTX 1060 and I have come down to only these 2 model of the cards
1. Gigabyte G1 Gaming 2. Palit (The JetStream version)
Which one is better and has better cooling ability in your opinion ?

Gigabyte is shit, one of the worst brands overall. EVGA or Palit ( Gamerock or Jetstream versions) are the best choice.

I recommend the inno3D GTX 1060 3GB Compact or Palit ones. Both are good. Obviously you can buy 1070s, but I'm quite happy with the ones I have.

you can get 1060 3gb cards for a steal (<$200 for the itx versions) right now and get ROI as quickly as a $300 480 card can
but you can get a better density with 1070 cards. and a 1080ti is also pulling a greta return and will always retain a strong resale value (easier to resell a 1080ti for $500 next year than a trio of $125 1060 cards)

If want to mine ETH, don't get the 1080. The memory is not as good as on the other GTX 10 models. I get 25 MH/s. The 1070 gets ~30 MH/s and the 1060 ~24 MH/s and those are cheaper than a 1080. The 1080 Ti gets ~37 MH/s but is $700+. The 1080 is good for ZEC though, I get 550 H/s at 70% TDP. The GTX 1070 is currently the best overalll Nvidia card for the price IMO.

with what clock speed you get 550 on 1080 ? i only get 460 h/s

My GTX1070 is Palit SuperJetstream it is 70-72C at stock but when I do 80% TDP Hashrate is still 30-31 ETH while temp is 65-67C.

That is a really good idea to get the ITX versions which costs cheaper. Do they have the same hashrate as normal gtx 1060 3gb or they have a smaller one ? I don't intend to resell as with the actual price of bitcoin ROI is just 45 days for such cards. And which is the best ITX version to get ? Maybe I am thinking to go with this idea but I need the best brand, ZOTAC maybe in this area of ITX ?

Hi, What model, miner an settings you use to get 24MH/s on 1060? That is a really good idea to get the ITX versions which costs cheaper. Won't 3GB will be obsolete if ETH will increase DAG? Also i would vote for dual fan version, cooler and more reliable if one fan dies... Though performance should be the same..

Even if 3GB won't be good for ETH there is always ZEC and LBRY which produce almost the same if not some better ROI for Nvidia cards. Normally if performance is the same I am not worried as the fan of ITX is pretty big so it won't fail that easy I believe. However I need some opinions from people who are mining with ITX cards if there are any here that are doing this ?

I have 6x Sapphire RX 570 Pulse Mini (ITX) and one of the card's fan stopped working within a week. I was probably just unlucky though.

Stacked close together in a big Tower Chieftec Bravo. Getting 420 Sol per card with 120W and 80% TDP Setting +200 core/+ 200 memory. The chasis is in a hot environment with 8 other farms. Temps pending between 65 and 75 degrees celsius. Have been over 2 month now.

You are making me think to get back to GTX 1070 ITX versions because with that hashrate you ROI a card in less than 3 months. I will keep my board open and I think I will have lower temperatures. So you say to go with Gigabyte ITX versions, what is its name, G1, Windforce or how it is called so I can check ?

i feel like now it's better to gow ith the big boy, because the return is very high, and it's doesn't make sense to save money, you can roi in two month with every gpu, so why chose the 1060 which is very bad for density? i would go with 1080 or 180ti
