Seriously, I knew people were chasing quick profits, but this is getting absurd. Just wait for it, as soon as the price drops a few hundred bucks, people will throw around with threads asking whether or not we'll be heading back towards sub $2000 levels. People's moods here are equally as volatile as Bitcoin's volatility.

I guess it is impossibe to reach that amout within this week or next week even if it will increase that fast because 5000$ is quite high. However, I think within this year before the year 2017 end bitcoin attain that amount and yet there are many things could happen to help the bitcoin to reach or to surpass that amount.

It will be incredible if it comes to the end of the day. I believe in the fantastic growth of bitcoin, but it seems to me that such a jump in growth will be too unrealistic.

Yes, it is almost impossible to reach $ 5000 this week or even by the end of the month, but by the end of the year there is already a more probable forecast.

Lol. First of all, you don't invest in bitcoin, you speculate about the price.

Secondly, there are chances of a hardfork happening for years now. More people are supporting it recently indeed, but the chances of that happening are still very small.

Bitcoin will do a UASF on the first of august, and if that is succesful, i don't think we will see a succesful hardfork anytime soon, and the price of bitcoin will probably moon.

A lot of people seem to think that UASF is the break out point, but I have my doubts. We need a significant scaling solution like the Lightning

Network to scale much quicker. A 2MB upgrade in the Block size are not going to cut it for mainstream adoption. The UASF phase will come with

a lot of panic and confusion and this will put a damper on the price. We still have some major scaling hurdles to cross, before we will see the

Moon.

Yup! I agree this is what I was thinking to just stick to the $3000 dollar mark because this is the most near to possible, and July is just getting to the mid of it's days and we are approaching to the new spot light of the Bitcoin price and I really can say that if we can step in that mark value, what is next for bitcoin? is it going to pursue $4000 and maybe $5000 or it will drop back to $2000? I can't really never say for now but let's just hope it keeps on increasing.

Maybe the price of bitcoin will be affected by the legalization of the crypto currency in Australia. But I do not think it will raise the price to $ 5000. It seems to me that bitcoin this year will not reach such a high price level

As adoption increases any business will move to peak. Same as that bitcoin has adopted everyday by many people in and outside the forum. Normally we use to see the price bump only in December month from the past 3 years but this year some countries make the bitcoin as a legal money and many finance related business and banks has been implementing bitcoin and own altcoins for them.

If some more Countries same as Japan and Australia starts the legalizing process then reaching $5000 is not that away. Hope our next destination will be towards $5000, as we will be touching the long time expectation of $3000 in a short. As anything could happen with bitcoin, being with positive hope is the best one can do.

If we are talking about possibilities, then yes, it is possible that Bitcoin will reach 5000 USD by next week. Who knows, right? Bitcoin never seizes to amaze anyone from us and maybe, just maybe, Bitcoin will give us that surprise. However, if this amount is reached within a week, we might see a sudden drop from that peak. It might bring a bad news for users if that happens.

Bitcoin is too unpredictable to rule out the $5000 mark for this year. Don't forget that the price on January 01 was hovering below the $1000 mark. In all honesty, who did ever expect to see $3000 in just 6 months?

I certainly didn't expected this to happen, and for that reason I am not going to rule out seeing the $5000 mark this year. I also prefer stable growth, but it's not up to us unfortunately.

I think 5000 would mean many many new dollars put into Bitcoin. Do not think that is possible in such a short time. It is true that the price doubled in just days, but to get a 1500 dollar raise is not the same as to raise by 2000$ AFTER having raised that 1500.

That would mean too much new money put into bitcoin in too short a time. $5000 by the year end is more likely.

It is possible but not within this week or next week unless there will be a huge pump coming in the next few days , but since the price isn't increasing very fast it is really impossible and I guess it would take one and a half year . As of now the only value that is quite possible to reach is $3000 .
