Is it possible to reach 5,000 $ /btc this week or next week ?

The week is about to end and we are not even close to that, we are at half the price of 5000 dollar, this should show us that we need to be positive but we must not get carried away and think bitcoin is some kind of magical money that grows out of trees, bitcoin in the long run will go up but it will  not go up that fast anymore.

People get too excited sometimes 

I think it will happen around september after the dust over UASF has been settled whether UASF wins or not.

Personally I think the result will matter, people are very negative about bitcoin at the moment because we seem unable to get a solution to the high fees and slow confirmation time, if we finally get segwit approved then the price will go up no doubt about that but if we don’t we run the risk of the negativity augmenting and that will impact the price.

I thought that we could easily reach $5,000 but that seems to be little bit hard after the sudden fall in bitcoin price from $2800.But still we could expect bitcoin price to reach $5,000 after august 1st when segwit 2x is to be activated.We could expect $5,000 within this 2017 end.

Even if Bitcoin re-captures the previous crypto-coin market share of 80%, then $5K can be easily achieved (if the crypto market cap remains constant). Considering that we never had any cryptocurrency with stable $5000 price I wouldn't say that reaching $5000 is easy, or doesn't require much of an effort.
It will be a huge milestone for Bitcoin, and I doubt that after scaling upgrade will end positively bitcoin's price will reach $5k just like that.

Recent GDAX ETH crash showed us that every cryptocurrency is linked to each other. Negative ETH news will undermine bitcoin's position too.

Dude, what do you expect? He controls the major pools and made them his bitch because he is the main (and the only) miner manufacturer. If those pools don't do what he says, he won't make those "special" discounts anymore. To stiff his monopoly even further, he created ASICBOOST and patented it and because of that, there will never ever be any competing companies.

Bitcoin will surely achieve that price in future but no one knows when exactly it will happen and we may need to wait for a long time as everyone is hoping to see that price in the end of the year but I doubt that it will be able to achieve it in this year.
