It's easy enough. Where do you get stuck to begin with?

Hello all,

I have recently bought a Raspberry Pi 3 B in order to make it my offline wallet. My online wallet would be on a computer using Windows 7 and/or Windows 10.

Being a newbie to Raspberry and Armory, I wanted to know:

  • if the Armory version 0.96.0 can be installed on my Raspberry?
  • Which OS should I use to so?

Thank you for your help, and sorry if this question has already been posted before, I have searched the forum but could not find any answer.

If you use raspian then my little guide should work:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1988562.0
Ofc ignore the bitcoind part.

You can start armory then with "armory --offline"

  • if the Armory version 0.96.0 can be installed on my Raspberry?

I have built it internally for my own purposes but have pushed a release for that yet. You can use the 0.93 raspbian package for now, or build yourself for your Pi.

I use Raspbian.

You want to cross compile for RPi. There's a quick guide for how I do it here:

thanks for the help.

I will try to build internally a version 0.96.0 for my Pi, since version 0.93 is not compatible with the segwit.

However, I have one last doubt:
  • Can I use diferent version of Armory on my devices? That is, v 0.96 on my online computer and v 0.93.3 on my Pi?
Tks,

But if it is going to stay offline... why do you need a raspberry pi? A piece of paper would do the job just fine. Raspberry won't be doing anything special for you other than memorizing your private key for you. And it can get broken. Nothing can beat papers.

Indeed mindrust, but I believe I won't be able to send any btc from my offline wallet.

I just want to use the Raspberry as a cold storage.

furthermore, I found the answer to my question, I can use different version of Armory on my devices.

Thanks to all!
