Which cryptos are most used as money / a cash alternative?

Which coins are most used to actually buy stuff (services, things etc.) as opposed to speculation & as a means to purchase other coins or tokens?

Bitcoin and Dash are used a lot on underground sites (like Alphabay etc), and there are estimates the dark industry is worth billions. On top of that you have Japan recently legalising Bitcoin and stories abound on Coindesk about retailers accepting alt coins. Crypto is currently on the verge of going mainstream.

There is a lot currencies around but the only ones that I see in action are BTC and LTC.

Maybe also DOGE but in case of tipping only.
All of the other coins aren't really used but hold a value from trading against btc.

Still btc is the most used digital currency by anyone.
A lot of people don't know yet the presence of alt currencies & how to use them.
Merchants & other banks are already using btc for so long already.

I am not sure that any store is accepting alt coins but some of the recent ICO are taking ETH as the investment coin and exchanges are pairing ETH with other coins and Litecoin is also paired to purchase other coins but it is somehow falling back in popularity as the volumes are really low.

I believe bitcoin is the best coin as cash alternative, simple reason is almost exchanger and on line shop receive bitcoin as payment but another coin is no. If you're a currency trader there's broker also receive bitcoin as their currency pair. Make time to surfing web like Pinterest, there's also a lot of people take bitcoin as payment for their skill. Never doubt bitcoin as cash alternative, maybe one-day bitcoin will become currency, not cryptocurrency. Good luck.

Dash and doge aren't used for much.  I looked for sites that accept Dash one time, and there were only a handful of (non-darknet) places, and none of them offered anything I'd ever want to buy.  Doge is pretty much the same thing.

When crypto gets spent for goods & services, it's mostly bitcoin that gets spent.  Like it or not, crypto is mainly used for speculating.  Especially anything other than btc, ltc, and doge.

If you're looking for a real alternative of the cas, it's bitcoin. The only problem with bitcoin is that its transaction speed is somehow problematic. Otherwise, I wouldn't look for another altcoin as a cash alternative.
