Electrum Litecoin Wallet?

Im using electrum with bitcoin.  I want to get ETH and it seems the best wallet is myetherwallet.  I also am thinking about getting litecoin.  I notice there is an electrum litecoin wallet. 


Can someone who used it tell me how is it?  Does it work pretty much exactly like Electrum with bitcoin?  Thus you get a 12 word phrase as a backup and you have to download it on your computer?  If so, i will definitely use this with Litcoin as im very used to electrum with btc.

Yeah, it is pretty similar to Electrum with bitcoin and uses the same style 12 word phrase as a seed. Check out https://electrum-ltc.org/ for more information.

Their review is wrong. They say in their website that electrum-ltc is not heuristic determined while in fact it is, I just downloaded it to make a test and it had the 12 word seed which makes it a HD wallet. As for the private key I really don't know but the look and work is the same as the btc electrum wallet so I think the private keys should not be stored to some third party.

hi there thanks.  Is there a reason why there is little reviews if any for the electrum litecoin wallet?  Is it because not much people have litecoin?

That would probably be the main reason. Litecoin just isn't as widely used as Bitcoin... plus, the litecoin core wallet only requires around 7gigs of download for the full litecoin blockchain, so it isn't a problem for most people to just use the core wallet (unlike bitcoin core and the 120+ gigs of blockchain )

I use it for long time without any problems, it is identical to Electrum for BTC and it should be safe in the same way. Just be sure to download latest version and only from official site, but also be sure to have clean PC because if you have some clipboard malware, RAT virus or something like that no wallet can protect your coins. Only reason I stop using LTC Electrum is because I start using Ledger hardware wallet, but Electrum LTC is best desktop solution for Litecoin, you do not have any doubt about that.

Yes,it is very important to keep updated to the latest version as soon as possible after launch because there were few time the vulnerabilities found in the elctrum bitcoin wallet,so if we use anytype of electrum wallet just update it regularly from official website as you mentioned.
