I really do not think that ethereum is a scam together with all the erc20 token out there. I say this because ethereum has solved problems in this industry, it has made it grow because of its features. Now, If you try to look at some of the erc20 tokens out there, you will see that there are quite a good number of them that are truly useful and solves real problems world, both within this industry and out of it.
