Hey everyone,

I bet this has already been asked, but searching for "solo mining" makes for a ton of stuff to search through. At what point, considering difficulty and local hashrate (scrypt, about 1050 Kh/s) would I dedicate my resources to solo-mining.

As an example, BQC currently has a difficulty < 1.0, would it be a better move to mine myself or join the ub3rl33t pool (can't find any other pools atm). Pretty new to mining and all, so I would appreciate the opinion of more seasoned miners.

Thanks!

Based on my experience with 3100 K/hs (scrypt) 3100 M/hs (SHA) I would recommend pools. I have yet to find a single accepted block for many hours trying many different alt coins.

I wouldn't recommend joining pools to mine lesser known crypto-currencies. Solo mining isn't really appropriate unless you have a large setup however you can potentially get rewarded more and more BTC. I would recommend if your new go with a more known coin than BQB and try pool mining. Best of luck though!

You could run your own P2Pool server and then get some payout quickly with that amount Smiley Google for P2Pool

BQC was created as a joke and still is a joke. Don't mine it unless you're just in it for giggles.

My name was simply a play on "Blue Engineer" from Team Fortress. I am not affiliated with Microsoft or the Azure project.
