Does anyone have a link to a guide on how to start solomining scrypt-based coins

I have just been introduced to cryptocurrency several weeks ago and have finally gotten a feel for cgminer and the current exchanges/etc.

My next project is trying to set up a solo mining rig since it seems like almost all the CHNcoin pools are getting DDoSed daily.

If anyone has a good guide that I could read through and learn how to set up a scrypt based mining operation without pools I would be one happy noob

I don't have a link but I'm wondering why would you want to solo mine coins, you probably won't get a profit if you go for the well known ones as the difficulty is so high unless you have an insane setup and for the lesser known ones, the risk is pretty high.

It is more a matter of wanting to know how to do it.

It's a bit silly to know how to use cgminer and pool mine and still don't know how to solo mine.
