ETH Prices Differences on Mutiple Exchanges

Dear All:

I want to understand why various exchanges currently have a large difference in the ETH/USD rate.

For instance, Poloniex is # $366.00 for ETH/USDT
Gemini @ $384.32 ETH/USD
GDAX @ $394.00 ETH/USD


Any help would be great.  And if anyone reccomends one exchange over the other, especially for a NEW YORK state resident

They have different supply and demand that makes the price is different in every exchange site. But you can try to buy ether through coinbased or shapeshift. Try to compare all of the exchange and take the best one.

Coinbase is always the most expensive, currently @$397 while Poloniex is at $368

Would you recommend buying USDT from Tether and then transferring to purchase at Poloniex?
