Hello folks,

I don't know if i posted in the right category of the forum but i am quite sure that the content of my post will be understood or what i am trying to say.

So we all know satoshi: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3

We all know the genesis address: https://blockchain.info/address/1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa

We all know this fact: "The first 50 BTC block reward went to address 1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa, though this reward can't be spent due to a quirk in the way that the genesis block is expressed in the code. It is not known if this was intentional or an accident."

We all know all the shitty people who tried to convince us they are satoshi.

Ok..so my point is .. what if satoshi never existed? Iluminati right? But we all know Snowden case and what he said to the world. So in fact what is bitcoin? It is important for us to know who was the mind behind bitcoin project?

Where the hell is satoshi? Do we desearve to know the truth? What do you think folks?

Or maybe we are all satoshi Cheesy

cheers
Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Do you really want to know who satoshi is?

The bitcoin world has long moved on from needing anything from him.

All that could happen would be massive panic if people think he still has access to close to a million bitcoins.

Let legends be legends.

1) It is highly likely that she is dead.
2) This is completely irrelevant.
3) Even if she is not dead, then she is best suited to remain anonymous or less risk almost certain death.

All that could happen would be massive panic if people think he still has access to close to a million bitcoins.
That's just pure speculation. Nobody can prove that he owns all those Bitcoin(s).

I think that we will never know - well not in the near future - who the true Satoshi/s is/are.  Do we really need to know though?

Exactly - we don't need to know at all. In fact it is probably best to respoct Satoshi's anonymity. If he wanted to reveal his identity he would have done so long ago. However he hasn't, which suggests that he won't reveal it anytime in the future.

People say that satoshi has a million coins, but this is just pure speculation as lauda said. Apart from the public infromation that is available from the blockchain there is really nothing else that can prove it.

Bitcoin is running okay without him, why do we even need him back now?

~ It is important for us to know who was the mind behind bitcoin project?~

if you truely understand the meaning of open source project then you will easily see that knowing who wrote that code has little importance. the code itself and the technology that it introduced to the world however is of much more importance.

Not all people want fame for their creations. Satoshi is one of them.

It makes a lot of sense for him to stay anonymous because there are indeed many legal complications that may affect him if his real identity was known to the world, for instance, tax evasion and he'll probably be persecuted for creating a tool that essentially frees people from central banking which was never done before.

As xypos said, if satoshi does not want people to know who he is, he has the right to remain anonymous. It's really illogical for people like us to think that our anonymity is important but others like satoshi's isn't.

I agree! It is obvious that Satoshi wants to be anonymous he created bitcoin with that design. I wonder why there are people who wants to see or to know Satoshi's whereabouts can't they just be thankful that he started Bitcoin and help us earn money through his idea.

Most likely satoshi is dead.
But I do think that satoshi is hiding or remaning anonymous to the crowd
because i think if satoshi's well known to the public somebody would hunt him.

That's right. Why it is so important for you to know who is Satoshi exactly and where he is? I suppose he is just one of this nerds who are enjoying in their work and doesn't like attention to their person, just like that math guy from Russia who said NO to the Nobel.

Because he decided that it would be better for Bitcoin to have a team of developers instead of just one person who will be dictating everything. Also he owns a lot of coins from early mining and people are afraid that he might dump them, but because he disappeared everyone assumes that those bitcoins are lost. If he stayed in public, it would look to some people that he has a lot of influence on Bitcoin, and they wouldn't like it. Also, he probably really didn't want to meet with CIA, FBI or some other organization, so he went hiding.

Lol. That's just a media hoax a long time ago and i'm sure you know that. Probabyl just a bunch of media outlets that are running out of content to write about and decides to interview this random guy and probably tell him what to say, to be honest.

Satoshi might be dead for all we know. Like there is really no point chasing him down - some of his accounts could even be hacked as demonstrated when he posted from a long hiatus "i'm not dorian nakamoto".

Is there really a point in us caring who he is? Does it make the bitcoin protocol better? I think his decision to remain out of bitcoin was a good one, for that if he continued to be involved he would have been accused of centralizing bitcoin just like Vitalik is with Ethereum.

Another thread talking about satoshi's but in the end it will meet same fate, satoshi's obviously won't come here and reply and no one here knows where he is or what happened, as far your knowledge satoshi's existed and he's real now don't know where he is or maybe he just wants to leave a peaceful life and guess we all should rather than be worried where he is.

Well there are many satoshi threads, but it is good to have another one every once in a while. It reminds us of the mistery of Bitcoin and the possibility that sharp changes happen if the coins in satoshi address are moved.

But I observe that really slow, the courisity of users about satoshi starts to dissapear. We will wanna know but our interest is not so big anymore. What is good is that bitcoin moved forward without satoshi and reached yesterday the 3000$ mile
