Bricked RX570

So I was flashing my cards, all was going well, GPU 1 and 2 Flashed ok but I did not reboot between flashes and I went to flash card 0, my primary on my rig. ATIWinflash crashed and the machine rebooted but now the VGA LED on my Z270 stays on when ever GPU0 is plugged in and goes to a black screen with GPU1 and 2 plugged in. I can get into motherboard bios with GPU1 and 2 but cannot post with GPU0

Gigabyte AORUS 4GB RX570 with NO dual bios. How screwed am I? Any suggestions?

You will have to do the "shorting pins 1+8" trick.

Happened to me with two cards. You might have to try it a couple of times, but you'll be able to get that card back to life. Just make sure you follow the instructions.

Its best to flash one card at a time, reboot and test if its working.
I know its time consuming, but its the safest way.

I would try this before shorting pins:

Remove bad card.  -- Run DDU to remove drivers and shutdown.  (Also uninstall any 3rd party apps like afterburner, trixx, etc).

Install bad card with a working card in the "primary" pci-e slot.  See if that will boot.

If you can't get the system to boot without drivers / 3rd party apps you will most likely have to short pins to reset the bios.

I haven't tried this but you might wanna give it a shot. Can you see if the system posts with a working GPU connected to the monitor and the bricked one to the other slot? If it does, check if ATIWinflash detects the bricked one. If it does, you can flash the BIOS.

Will not post if GPU0 is in, the VGA error LED just remains on the motherboard.

If GPU1 or GPU2 is in then it posts, but will not boot into Windows. I onloy have 3 cards so only have onboard video to work with.

I'll try the 1 to 8 pin tonight on GPU0 and hopefully that bypasses the VGA error otherwise i'm in trouble with that card.

I also briker a rx 580 with bad bios.

I managed to reflate my card but in mode without failure + command prompt.

So what method do I use to identify the correct chip on the board? Are the pins always counted counter clockwise?

Can I harm the card if I short the wrong pins?
