Could some major shift or change happen that would bitcoin nearly worthless especially overnight?
1bitcoin = 1usd ? It's impossible imo. It will only happen if something really bad happen on bitcoin, like a big scam or another popular crypto come and makes bitcoin price become lower and lower. It will takes a long time though for that. Because the bitcoin's price is still on top price. |

I don't think so. In my honest opinion too much money is invested in bitcoin to just drop to 1$ over night. And if you didn't noticed, every time price drop people are buying it and pump price back. Also more and more people are using bitcoin, so i just don't see this as an option. |

from the current price over than $2000 to $1 overnight i think it's just like trying went to the moon using submarine so it's impossible because usually if the price dropped it was happened gradually so there is no such thing in cryptocurrency even altcoins would never happened from valuable became worthless at the same day

Possible? Sure. Likely? Not very. This isn't a penny stock offering with only hype from pump/dump boiler rooms while the principles flood the market with shares. BTC is a worldwide decentralized industry at this point. I think the main question is if it continues to grow or stalls but it's not going away anytime soon. Right now the big volume coins all move in relative lockstep up and down, presumably mostly tied to btc. I'm curious to see what happens when/if that locked sync gets lost, if btc will still be the "index" or not.

Anything is possbile, but in realistic bitcoin will not go there ever again because the supply is very limited than the demands in the markets.

To those who hold the position that there is a possibility I would align with that although the possibly of that happen is really slim but its still possible. Using the current happenings, its very difficult for us to go that back down because even if the price crashes, and the block chain is still worthy to be adopted by multinationals and even countries, then I see it bouncing back but the moment block chain fails, I see it crashing even beyond the benchmark of the $1 set. |

That 1usd idea is a crap and if you think a progress of bitcoin in the future that's so alarming, and I think there's a big economic war when it happens. I see it to be the biggest opportunity to all who haven't invest bitcoin in buying for holding, and that price is so cheap if that 1usd will be reached. If that 1usd will be possible no one will plan to exchange their bitcoin to fiat cash and price will rise higher again, because many will buy and hold it for a long term investment.

Once it has got the same value the OP stated, but later it has grown little by little and has reached as high nearing to $3000. People were predicting that the price of a Satoshi goes equal to $1, rather than a single bitcoin getting a value as 1$.

This cannot happen over night if there would not be anything that would influence such movement, like for example the whole internet will be turned off or there would be a hard fork that will put everyone on that fork and forget about the old one. Both are highly unlikely to happen. If it does, you wouldn't know what hit you until it does. |

Had to look up what a satoshi value is, that would be nuts and probably as likely for that to go to $1 as a btc to go the other direction to $1. |

yes hopefully it is not going to happen, i am sure that the price of bitcoin will continue increasing and not going to decrease. i am sure that very soon the price of bitcoin will hit 5000$ therefore the interested people have good opportunities to invest money in bitcoin right now. |

As of now the price is very big so Icant see any reason bitcoin down at $1 or fall at $1 and i think if that happen in the next few decades not today not tomorrow, and not next few years for sure. If that happen for sure the bitcoin will die because only less people invest bitcoin because they have possible to be dead in the future.

if only much people dump is never bitcoin price down to one dollar, not enough money can dump bitcoin to one dollar

There is no way that bitcoin will ever dump back to 1 USD. $1500 bitcoin price is a possible dump before August, panic is unavoidable with the network splitting news. With a lot of users that transact bitcoin and use it to pay for something, there is no way it will dump that huge. Though if it happens, many investors and users will buy thousand of them and wait to pump for a great profit. |

It might hit that amount but I don't think it'll happen now. BTC currently is still around the range of $2400-$2700 and even reached $3000 a couple of weeks ago.
