NEM for its focus on practical usage of blockchain to solve real world problem.
DASH for its continuous innovation to become a currency for the world through improvement on user friendliness.

These are one of the most prominent altcoins in the market. Both NEM and DASH are unique cryptocurrencies with their distinctive and innovative features. With NEM, you can enjoy the goodness of advanced features like mosaics, harvesting, and even delegated harvesting which is similar to staking your coins but without the need to leave your wallet open at all times to earn from your holdings.

As for DASH, it has been a well-known and established cryptocurrency that has followed Bitcoin's codebase but adding additional features such as masternodes which ensure privacy and having a unique ASIC resistant algorithm.

Therefore, these cryptocurrencies mentioned could skyrocket in price in the long term due to their unique features, constant development, and popularity. I remember when DASH used to be worth $12 and now it has increased to nearly $200. Same thing with NEM, as it used to be a lot cheaper than what it is right now.

Nevertheless, while these altcoins are good they're not the only ones which provide promising features. There is a huge selection of coins in the market, each with their unique features and development team behind it. It is up to you to make a research and decide which altcoin you will hold for the long term. Just my opinion.

BTC ETH and LGD (legends room)

What is Legend Room or LGD? Why it is your favorite cryptocurrency?

I know Bitcoin and Ethereum is one of the most favorite coin of almost all trader like me. Because this coins give big profit to us. And I want to add some coins that's my favorite to trade, like Humaniq, Edgeless and BAT. This coin is my favorite because when this coins dump buy some coins and wait only weeks or days to pump.

I am holding only two coins for long term right now. That is bitcoin and xem. I used to own waves and notes but I dumped this two in favor of xem.

Well. I wanna say that, waves,ETH,VSM and NXT is my favourite crypto currncy of this year. This year i have made a huge amount profit from those coin. Its a great year to me and my crypto life.

Waves is also my favorite, as it allowed me to earn huge profits after launch. Since I was one of the early investors, I've been able to benefit greatly from its price increase right after it got listed on the exchanges.

Besides the profits, I'm also attracted to its features and speed of transactions which is a lot faster than Bitcoin. Also, having a lite wallet for Chrome is very convenient as it allows me to quickly manage my Waves within my browser with no blockchain syncing whatsoever.

ETH and NXT are also great cryptocurrencies with unique features such as smart contracts, aliases, decentralized exchange, and much more. I think that they will remain in crypto land for many years to come.

Smart choice. You've limited yourself to only two cryptocurrencies which makes you free of having to stay up to date with a lot of coins holding. As for me, I have many altcoins which are in my portfolio, which have turned out to be quite a hassle since I would need to stay up to date with each and every one of them, taking up a lot of my time.

Things aside, XEM has a great potential of becoming a widely robust and popular blockchain platform. It brings many features, alongside with active development, making it reach new heights as time goes by. One feature that is quite interesting to see is Catapult since it aims to make NEM more scalable and capable of delivering faster transaction speeds. If it becomes a reality, it could spark in price and popularity making it the third largest cryptocurrency after Bitcoin and Ethereum. Just my thoughts.

Bitcoin will be my all time favorite! Ethereum is cool, and EXPanse have a lot of great concept and has a lot to offer, those are my top three.

Byteball and Komodo looks promising.

Both Byteball and Komodo have promising technology that may have a positive effect in their value for the long term. Personally, I love Komodo as it brings a multicurrency wallet, along with ZCash's privacy features, and best of all, security provided with Bitcoin's hashrate.

If you compare Komodo and ZCash, Komodo has a lot to offer but it is pretty undervalued right now considering that ZEC is worth hundreds of dollars. With the unique dPoW consensus algorithm, KMD can prove to become a much secure cryptocurrency than ZEC, as it is backed by Bitcoin's hashrate.

In the case of ByteBall, I haven't got the chance to try it yet because it is a little expensive, but I'm eager to get some coins soon. There have been a few distributions of BYTE going around lately, which may give me a few free coins based on my current BTC holdings at the time where the snapshot was made.

Nevertheless, there are many coins out there that have really cool features, making most of them the favorites of many people in crypto land. Whichever cryptocurrency you choose, it is up to you to keep up date with the latest happenings. Just my opinion.

I think there are two different questions here.
One is which project do we identify with and support long-term.
And many people agree on the better projects.
The only problem, short-term at least, is that many look very different in some months than others:
for example Ripple in June 2017 is a very different proposition from Ripple in March 2017.
So a slightly different question (which some may not like) is: which decent coins have many more genuine buyers than sellers.
For example I recently stumbled on AUR Aurora Coin from Iceland. It's not going to change the world, it's a tiny coin with low ambition,
but just take a look at the wall of buyers queuing up, and the handsomely rising graph! It makes my heart sing - like Bjork, but cheaper.
As for the question: should the price action affect one's like or dislike of a coin / project, I guess it depends on whether we are a philosopher/aesthete, or trying to make profitable trade.
There's not much point in falling in love with a coin which is going to lose you money (presumably Ethereum short term) - wouldn't it be better to cut contact and buy back lower?

yeah i like that cruptocurrencies too , but the most currency i like is the bitcoin off course because it helps me a lot now and it provides the needs of my family plus it teaches me some values in my life too thats why i like it.

My very own favorite would still be squall coin because I believed in it and that's why I represent it. This is a coin that has been in existence for over 3years with the support still coming even from people who left the forum and still come back at the same time the promoter is not resting neither is he scamming anyone. After my first choice can now come others such as ETH or ripples etc.

Sure ETH have a high value because it stayed for a long time now. But there are also promising coins now.
NEM have a low price but with high value. It went up to a good price from a low investment that I made before.
