Maybe it is time for some people to realize what bitcoin really is and what it is not, and the sooner the better. Like everyone else, I thought bitcoin will disrupt the financial system and replace fiat in the future. I soon realized that it was all propaganda made up by some libertarians who may have become blinded from reality.

With all the hysteria around bitcoin surging to records and possibly being the currency of the future, CNBC decided to put it to the test. Can one person live off of bitcoin for a week?

New York City may have thousands of restaurants and bars, but only a handful accept bitcoin. We made a lot of calls and reached out to several vendors to see if they accept the digital currency. We also leveraged "bitcoin maps" online which were not entirely accurate.

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Naturally they focus on the absolute end-game of Bitcoin, not the inroads that it has already made.

To achieve the saturation that they're attempting to verify, it would take a lot more adoption than what is currently occurring.

Things take time.

But try explaining that to people used to 4 second intercuts and switching channels the moment something is "boring".
