Hi All,

I rarely come on this forum, but I figured I should let you know about this. Apparently, this is the only place I could post. Tomorrow, We will be starting the first open outcry exchange for bitcoins. We are doing this in Union Square Park, NYC at 4:00pm.

The reasons behind this are many, and I hope obvious. I hope this becomes a new model for bitcoin exchange, ending reliance on single points of failure, as well as lowering barriers to entry in to bitcoin and easing financial friction resulting in a much more efficient market. I think a distributed model is most in keeping with the bitcoin ethos (act locally/connect globally).

This project addresses some things which localbitcoins.com lacks, while also addressing some major issues with the electronic exchanges.

Feel free to comment on the subreddit as well:

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.
