What are your speculations on the bitcoins but also the rest of cryptocurrencies in the future ?
Me personally I think that it will generate more interest and at one point it will become a stable currency acknowledged worldwide , so when more countries accept it like currency it will increase the demand considerably thus so it's value.
I understood for now Russia and China acknowledged bitcoin like currency ? Am I wrong ? And are there any other countries that did the same ?

Pretty good article. Thanks for sharing.

As many have already mentioned in other threads with the same sense as your topic OP, since we are in the generation where technology is booming tremendously, and so, the flexibility of cryptocurrency towards everyday expenditure is a very high factor that the possibility of cryptocurrency being the Global currency after sometime is very high.

BIG WINNER!

I think Bitcoin will have much more stable price.
and then you'll be able to use it in a day-to-day purchases like any other currency.
even now, more and more merchants are using bitcoin, and even countries are starting to accept it.
So in ten years it will be just part of our life.

In the matter of BTC/USD price, I believe it will stabilize at around 20,000 USD per BTC.

I think it will be mostly abandoned, as you cannot win from regulators. BTC has opposite goals contrary to those of regulators, which is why it can never grow to any significant size.
Also, I expect BTC will be taken over by tech that's much more scalable, and easier to update without all the politics surrounding BTC. There are a few logical alternatives to BTC out there already, with BTC already been outdated as of 2017.

You're funny. Bitcoin is the digital gold of the new era, and yet you think it will never grow in size? How do you call the growth that we have been experiencing in the last years? Insignificant growth? Fake growth?

Let me guess, one of the alternatives that you are referring to, isn't coincidentally Ethereum? People only care about the speculative aspect of altcoins, and not their gimmicky features.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

A bubble mostly, given that BTC is almost not being used for actually buying stuff, still as of 2017. It is the same problem it had in 2013, and the same problem still mainly persists into 2017.
I don't think Bitcoin is a store of value: there's nothing physical backing it up like gold, nor does gold fluctuate this violently in value. The growth we've seen over the past years was mostly speculation based on its future usecase, and ignored whatever regulators would do when BTC would get too big. That's why BTC will never succeed in the end: by far most governments cannot accept something that could be used for widespread money laundering, tax evasion and other unwanted side effects.

I am not invested in ETH, but I think it's actually much more advanced than BTC at this point. I also think you know that to be true, given that BTC is getting ancient, sloppish and less innovative with each passing day. ETH got a few of the same problems as BTC does though, with regard to its actual usecase as of today. However, I see much more potential in ETH or XRP (used to settle payments) than BTC at this point. Both have also appreciated much more steeply than BTC this year, and BTC's rise was probably mostly facilitated by altcoin trades - which are mainly being done in BTC.

That is a lot of years to certainly think what will surely would happen in that years and that would be the year 2027 and I my opinion only, Bitcoin and all Altcoins will surely be fruitful in that years but I am guessing countries would adapt in many specific coins not to mention Russia can surely adapt one of that coins and that is ETH I can not certainly tell when but they are backing it and taking a step in doing it, and maybe other countries would surely take other Alcoins to surely use it, well that is just a speculation, money or fiat is surely changing it's form and we can surely see digital currency will be the future of currency!

I just hoped by that time all the issues in crypto currency is solved. And if this becomes true by then, bitcoin and altcoin will become a major thing. It may not overcome fiat or become the major payment processor but become a major thing like internet is right now.

Despite the fact that many countries are now also actively involved in the use of force and issue their own crypto currency, I also think that further Fiat Bitcoin will not go. The real currency today is also very well listed on the financial market and Bitcoin will not be able to prevent it. But I want to say that Bitcoin and Fiat have their power And everyone in their field.

although 10 years is such a long time to predict about bitcoin but if we examine the current position of bitcoin we can evaluate about the price of bitcoin that after 10+ years bitcoin will be hopefully too much in strong  position and yes all the bitcoin related issues will also be solved,  at that time i am hopeful that the community of bitcoin will more that 50% of the total population of the world.

Hold at least 10 bitcoins, be the happiest man after 10 years.

The money you'll have at that time probably will be enough for you to retire. Ez Retirement in 10 years? Get 10 bitcoins. That'll be equal to 500k$ probably.

And Platinum Retirement Plan is only for 21BTC = 1 Million USD. 21BTC is a bit hard to collect now so not many people will be having this plan. That's why its labeled as "platinum"  Cheesy

I love how everyone thinks oh 10k+ in X years. Just because some country's have adapted to accept it others are looking to ban it or revoke access to banking facility if you are reviving money to or from exchanges.. also with the upcoming vote on 1st august bitcoin might not be just bitcoin in the near future,

Bitcoin, it's not miners ... miners are only a part (1/3) of Bitcoin.

1/3 = nodes
2/3 = miners
3/3 = market

triangular forces are interesting.

I also think that many will get interested to bitcoin. But Russia (Vladimir Putin) is now into putting his interest to Ethereum and that's probably one of the reason why eth is rising. Still bitcoin is the main crypto that everyone is going to catch up and many will use this in the future but we need to face first it's problems.

With the passage of time more and more people are coming to adopt bitcoin and different countries also started to adopt bitcoin as a legal currency for their state which is becoming a good reason for to increase its price so I think in the coming 10 years bitcoin will be a global currency with a highest value.

I think that in the future bitcoin prices will increase very high. Could be in the next 10 years the price jumped hundreds of percent of the current price. This must be affected also by the increase in the number of bitcoin users, because the greater the need the higher the bitcoin price.

Higher the usage and acceptance will gradually leads for an increase in price. This is a promised growth, because already we knew that bitcoin generation is limited whereas the user base is increasing randomly. When we think about the price after 10 years surely it will be high as we could have crossed two halving by that time.

I agree that cryptocurrency will be well aknowledge by every county after 10 years.   Those who holds and saves bitcoin for a sole purpose of cashing out after 10 years won't be disappointed.  With massive adoption and new innovations, I am sure Bitcoin can make its holder financially stable even with just 1 coins.

Maybe or maybe not, but surely the technology will continue to rule the economic system. Same as now the wealthy people will be the one that profit big through bitcoin. The increased price can't be afforded by common men whereas it is easy for wealthy people to invest and get the best profit.

The Bitcoin will probably reach the point where it will be used as "The Universal Currency" (I hope), but before that I think 10 years will be somewhat short if we are talking about world wide adaptation of the Bitcoin. Because firstly some countries have already banned Bitcoin and it will take time to rearrange that. And the main barrier at hand is that all the countries' current currencies, I mean they will not just gonna go and throw all these Fiats away.

Both have also appreciated much more steeply than BTC this year, and BTC's rise was probably mostly facilitated by altcoin trades - which are mainly being done in BTC.

you said it just bubble mostly? So much bubble then, from nothing to $3000.
In other words you mean bitcoin can not develop further? Can not grow anymore? As bitcoin already outdated you said.
Interesting opinion.
I agree bitcoin has some problems and yet it isn't used as currency to buy stuff? But, I know several places where people still use bitcoin as medium of exchange. Bitcoin is a decentralized digital gold, it doesn't need physical backing like gold, it stands alone and worth measured by the people who support it.
If, there's no any people, devs team and miners backing it up, it will ended as nothing, worthless.
I believe bitcoin will grow bigger in 10 years later, I guess around $10,000.

I agree that cryptocurrency will be well aknowledge by every county after 10 years.   Those who holds and saves bitcoin for a sole purpose of cashing out after 10 years won't be disappointed.  With massive adoption and new innovations, I am sure Bitcoin can make its holder financially stable even with just 1 coins.

What you said is will happen in  years or something but in ten years bitcoin will reach the world's best stock. I hope US will declare the bitcoin is their national currency.
Other altcoin will consider as the other countries national currency. Every banks will consider bitcoin for savings account or current. Banks will sell the hard wallet for the people as treasure for the customers. These all will happen.

In 10 years it will hit 20000$ per BTC. So no need to worry. I have no doubt bitcoin will go over 10000$ in 5 years Wink

Long term wise there is no doubt that bitcoin will thrive. Reason being that it is not going to be affected by any bubbles that may burst in our lifetime(housing bubble, for instance), bank failures, or a total economic collapse.

It is unrelated to any of the governments, nor is it controlled by anyone. Thus giving it a real advantage over the rest of the investment options available to investors and consumers alike.

The odds of an economy failing completely are actually quite high. We haven't seen a total economic collapse in a few years now which is really an anomaly. I would expect that some time in the next decade, a big industrial superpower will collapse due to the debt bubbles prominent around the world. When people seek alternatives they'll look at precious metals which are expensive to transport, and in the end i believe that bitcoin will be chosen as the consensus global currency. Price at this stage wouldn't be important because fiats have no value anyways, but in today's dollar terms i would estimate at least $50,000 in 2017 dollars in a decade or two.

I'd say that most likely bitcoin will succeed. However if we can't make sure that the community stays as a whole, then an altcoin can indeed overtake it in a short period of time. Even though this is unlikely to happen there is a possibility. Ethereum is coming very close to getting the top spot on the cryptocurrency list in terms of market capitalizations.

10 years would mean 2 halving, each halving let's just say the price triples(conservative estimate considering how the price went 7x after this halving), that would result in bitcoin being at around $25,000 each.

I think that a lot of people are focusing on purely price here. Price is important, yes. But it's definitely not something that is as important as, say how active the bitcoin community is, how many people is actually using bitcoin, how many merchants is accepting bitcoin, so on and so forth. Price is merely a reflection on what the market thinsk about a certain thing, whether a lot of people want it or not.

The value of bitcoin will continue to climb in the long run, and 10 years is quite a long time in crypto history because bitcoin hasn't existed for 10 years yet and probably the concept is just 10 years. A lot of things could happen. Bitcoin could stablize and become a real hedge against the fiat currency, and based on the current inflation rates it would mean that bitcoin would approximately rise by 40-50% in 10 years. But i think that due to halvings and probably more adopters, there will be several boom and bust cycles in bitcoin price. But the overall trend again is up. If we can quadruple the user base that we have now in 10 years i don't see a reason why bitcoin can rise to $50,000 apiece. Yes, it's not a dream.

10 years beyond is something great to bitcoin world. It survive a lot of problem. And maybe that time first world countries had adopted and embraced bitcoin. The price will be sky high also because of the country that legalized it. Japan will be the pioneering country in this field. Bitcoin will be the universal currency and it would be convenient in every way. If we hold 1btc today and after 10 years we're all be millionaires. That will be a dream that for sure will happen.

You've mentioned "I'd say that most likely bitcoin will succeed. However if we can't make sure that the community stays as a whole", well I disagree with that there will always be 2nd and 3rd world countries out there that do not have the potential to adapt BTC then what more of an altcoin you say? Yes it is not a bad thing to conclude things like this but do not forget what's on the other hand of the situation.

It's possible that over time, Bitcoin will start to resemble the current monetary system more and more. Let's hope we can collectively keep making Bitcoin better than anything that's come before. What a shame it would be to land up back at square one again.

Agree mostly banks will make a new crypto that will be like or it would surpass the bitcoin. Though i think bitcoin will be more stronger, no one can stop it unless there are catastrophic that will happen on the market of bitcoin. But now lets just celebrate that existence of bitcoin and be happy that the bitcoin is their so that we could earn some of money

Bank's crypto currencies can only have success if they force persons to use that instead of bitcoins. Who uses bitcoin doesn't want bank intervention, they want a more free financial system different from the centralized.
In 10 years the bitcoin price can reach to 10000$ very easily, but I don't think it's enough time to make the currency price stable.

10 years from now bitcoin will be under pressure from other cryptocurrencies especially those initiated by banking institutions or well established companies which will offer a centralized money system that will likely have more support than decentralized currencies like bitcoin

The point is that banks can create their own cryptocurrency and it'll work just fine. Just like China and Russia are trying to create their own cryptocurrency, whilst they are actively fighting against bitcoin. Doesn't really make sense but since the ledger is immutable, i guess it adds an extra layer of security. Theh central bank of each economy can still manipulate interest rates, inflation rates, all that jack.

In 10 years time i can see a lot of countries having their own "altcoins" or their own "national cryptocurrency". Just like right now nations have their own fiat currency, but gold is still viewed as king, in my opinion bitcoin will be somewhat like gold to fiat currencies right now.

For bitcoin to show what it's truly made of, an economic collapse in a major country has to occur. Unfortunately as it sounds, i believe when an economy collapses it's the perfect time for bitcoin to offer itself up to the task, thus gaining more users. $1 million per coin in 2027 due to inflation isn't impossible at all.

The most I expected was bitcoin could be a legal tender and also many countries that have given positive regulation of the bitcoin. So bitcoins are free to circulate and everything is set with a predetermined decision. This can certainly make the bitcoin price is increasing and also used by many people. Bitcoin can be equivalent to real money is the goal.

BTC in 10+ years... I won't be able to imagine or predict its price in such a long timeframe but if the platform evolves for the better and more and more people/businesses use it, rely on it until then, I'd guess there will be a lot of happy people who got involved early in the ecosystem. By early I also mean these days, even if someone joins now they could see their holdings go up in value considerably.

Legal tender is a tough call. It implies that governments allow all obligations to be settled in bitcoins, which thereby undermines the national fiat currency. Bitcoin may become widely accepted, but I don't see it becoming legal tender.

And that could be the worst happening if they can control it since I believe if that thing will occur our profit generated by bitcoin or altcoins will be lessen since inflation will controled and supplies will be hodl by the government whos controlling it. But all assumption unto it will be surely impossible since bitcoins and crypto's are pretty much amazing for its anonymity.

Honestly if some body asks me to predict the price of Bitcoin in the next 12 hours I'd be lying if I'd said something regarding the price at least. in 10 years a lots of things could happen, one of which could be this forum saturated with enough shitposts that we all will choke and die. lol once.
I believe Bitcoin will grow in user base and mining industry and some where along the way gullible people that we are, will understand how mericans were buying all the coins to control the ecosystem and will stop giving our coins so cheap to them.

One thing i accept is that you could see more people coming into crypto currency but having a stable currency is the one thing i cannot accept,i do not think it will be stable,i like the volatility and most of the traders will like the high volatility.

What are your speculations on the bitcoins but also the rest of cryptocurrencies in the future ?

I predict that there will be a variety of currencies like the modern currency system for crypto, with Bitcoin being the main currency people use globally and a variety of other cryptocurrencies being preferred in certain countries for various reasons.

As we move further into the technological age more vendors will adopt the technology and the price and value of coins held today will skyrocket from the current prices, giving people who enter at this point in time more than ample opportunity to make small fortunes or large ones depending on how well they can execute today and picking the best coins with the brightest outlook.

Believing in Bitcoins and it's ability to change the world

More people will come into the bitcoin as well the other digital currency usage. But at the same I don't have any exact prediction on the price or growth of bitcoin. When more Countries legalize the value will be high also the hardness relative to it will also increase.

It's the free market aspect that makes crypto in general so volatile, combined with the poor liquidity that this industry till this day has. But as you also pointed out, this is what traders are looking for.

Liquidity is an important aspect when it comes to stability. Gold for example is one of the most liquid markets in the world, which makes sure that large value movements don't necessarily have an impact on its price.

Dump $25 million worth of Bitcoin on the market, and it will go nuts, literally. You'll need to sell the price down massively in order to do the job. Sell $25 million in gold, and the market won't give a single damn.

Bitcoin is still a small asset, and it will likely grow further, but never to the level of reaching gold-like stability. I actually prefer to have it like this as the volatility will make sure that it attracts capital from traders.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

10 years is a very long time. Now bitcoin is not yet 10 years old, but bitcoin has been famous and even competes with gold. Well, it can be assured that in the next 10 years, bitcoin is definitely more popular than it is now, and certainly will have a high price.

I think everyone knows in 10 years or at least everyone is expecting bitcoin to increase probably more than what they have right now. Mainly because bitcoin has been increasing year by year though there were times it dropped half its value but it did stood up and increased back.
