In 10 years, bitcoin will be used by the wealthy to move money around. It will continue to be the oldest, most trusted vehicle for blockchain transactions. or...maybe not

What are your speculations on the bitcoins but also the rest of cryptocurrencies in the future ? Me personally I think that it will generate more interest and at one point it will become a stable currency acknowledged worldwide , so when more countries accept it like currency it will increase the demand considerably thus so it's value. I understood for now Russia and China acknowledged bitcoin like currency ? Am I wrong ? And are there any other countries that did the same ?
I agree that cryptocurrency will be well aknowledge by every county after 10 years. Those who holds and saves bitcoin for a sole purpose of cashing out after 10 years won't be disappointed. With massive adoption and new innovations, I am sure Bitcoin can make its holder financially stable even with just 1 coins.

Same as now the wealthy people will be the one that profit big through bitcoin. The increased price can't be afforded by common men whereas it is easy for wealthy people to invest and get the best profit.

The Bitcoin will probably reach the point where it will be used as "The Universal Currency" (I hope), but before that I think 10 years will be somewhat short if we are talking about world wide adaptation of the Bitcoin. Because firstly some countries have already banned Bitcoin and it will take time to rearrange that. And the main barrier at hand is that all the countries' current currencies, I mean they will not just gonna go and throw all these Fiats away.

I think it will be mostly abandoned, as you cannot win from regulators. BTC has opposite goals contrary to those of regulators, which is why it can never grow to any significant size. Also, I expect BTC will be taken over by tech that's much more scalable, and easier to update without all the politics surrounding BTC. There are a few logical alternatives to BTC out there already, with BTC already been outdated as of 2017.
You're funny. Bitcoin is the digital gold of the new era, and yet you think it will never grow in size? How do you call the growth that we have been experiencing in the last years? Insignificant growth? Fake growth? Let me guess, one of the alternatives that you are referring to, isn't coincidentally Ethereum? People only care about the speculative aspect of altcoins, and not their gimmicky features. A bubble mostly, given that BTC is almost not being used for actually buying stuff, still as of 2017. It is the same problem it had in 2013, and the same problem still mainly persists into 2017. I don't think Bitcoin is a store of value: there's nothing physical backing it up like gold, nor does gold fluctuate this violently in value. The growth we've seen over the past years was mostly speculation based on its future usecase, and ignored whatever regulators would do when BTC would get too big. That's why BTC will never succeed in the end: by far most governments cannot accept something that could be used for widespread money laundering, tax evasion and other unwanted side effects. I am not invested in ETH, but I think it's actually much more advanced than BTC at this point. I also think you know that to be true, given that BTC is getting ancient, sloppish and less innovative with each passing day. ETH got a few of the same problems as BTC does though, with regard to its actual usecase as of today. However, I see much more potential in ETH or XRP (used to settle payments) than BTC at this point. Both have also appreciated much more steeply than BTC this year, and BTC's rise was probably mostly facilitated by altcoin trades - which are mainly being done in BTC. you said it just bubble mostly? So much bubble then, from nothing to $3000. In other words you mean bitcoin can not develop further? Can not grow anymore? As bitcoin already outdated you said. Interesting opinion. I agree bitcoin has some problems and yet it isn't used as currency to buy stuff? But, I know several places where people still use bitcoin as medium of exchange. Bitcoin is a decentralized digital gold, it doesn't need physical backing like gold, it stands alone and worth measured by the people who support it. If, there's no any people, devs team and miners backing it up, it will ended as nothing, worthless. I believe bitcoin will grow bigger in 10 years later, I guess around $10,000.

Other altcoin will consider as the other countries national currency. Every banks will consider bitcoin for savings account or current. Banks will sell the hard wallet for the people as treasure for the customers. These all will happen.

Long term wise there is no doubt that bitcoin will thrive. Reason being that it is not going to be affected by any bubbles that may burst in our lifetime(housing bubble, for instance), bank failures, or a total economic collapse. It is unrelated to any of the governments, nor is it controlled by anyone. Thus giving it a real advantage over the rest of the investment options available to investors and consumers alike. The odds of an economy failing completely are actually quite high. We haven't seen a total economic collapse in a few years now which is really an anomaly. I would expect that some time in the next decade, a big industrial superpower will collapse due to the debt bubbles prominent around the world. When people seek alternatives they'll look at precious metals which are expensive to transport, and in the end i believe that bitcoin will be chosen as the consensus global currency. Price at this stage wouldn't be important because fiats have no value anyways, but in today's dollar terms i would estimate at least $50,000 in 2017 dollars in a decade or two.

I'd say that most likely bitcoin will succeed. However if we can't make sure that the community stays as a whole, then an altcoin can indeed overtake it in a short period of time. Even though this is unlikely to happen there is a possibility. Ethereum is coming very close to getting the top spot on the cryptocurrency list in terms of market capitalizations. 10 years would mean 2 halving, each halving let's just say the price triples(conservative estimate considering how the price went 7x after this halving), that would result in bitcoin being at around $25,000 each.

I think that a lot of people are focusing on purely price here. Price is important, yes. But it's definitely not something that is as important as, say how active the bitcoin community is, how many people is actually using bitcoin, how many merchants is accepting bitcoin, so on and so forth. Price is merely a reflection on what the market thinsk about a certain thing, whether a lot of people want it or not. The value of bitcoin will continue to climb in the long run, and 10 years is quite a long time in crypto history because bitcoin hasn't existed for 10 years yet and probably the concept is just 10 years. A lot of things could happen. Bitcoin could stablize and become a real hedge against the fiat currency, and based on the current inflation rates it would mean that bitcoin would approximately rise by 40-50% in 10 years. But i think that due to halvings and probably more adopters, there will be several boom and bust cycles in bitcoin price. But the overall trend again is up. If we can quadruple the user base that we have now in 10 years i don't see a reason why bitcoin can rise to $50,000 apiece. Yes, it's not a dream.

10 years beyond is something great to bitcoin world. It survive a lot of problem. And maybe that time first world countries had adopted and embraced bitcoin. The price will be sky high also because of the country that legalized it. Japan will be the pioneering country in this field. Bitcoin will be the universal currency and it would be convenient in every way. If we hold 1btc today and after 10 years we're all be millionaires. That will be a dream that for sure will happen.

You've mentioned "I'd say that most likely bitcoin will succeed. However if we can't make sure that the community stays as a whole", well I disagree with that there will always be 2nd and 3rd world countries out there that do not have the potential to adapt BTC then what more of an altcoin you say? Yes it is not a bad thing to conclude things like this but do not forget what's on the other hand of the situation.

It's possible that over time, Bitcoin will start to resemble the current monetary system more and more. Let's hope we can collectively keep making Bitcoin better than anything that's come before. What a shame it would be to land up back at square one again.

Agree mostly banks will make a new crypto that will be like or it would surpass the bitcoin. Though i think bitcoin will be more stronger, no one can stop it unless there are catastrophic that will happen on the market of bitcoin. But now lets just celebrate that existence of bitcoin and be happy that the bitcoin is their so that we could earn some of money

Who uses bitcoin doesn't want bank intervention, they want a more free financial system different from the centralized. In 10 years the bitcoin price can reach to 10000$ very easily, but I don't think it's enough time to make the currency price stable.

The point is that banks can create their own cryptocurrency and it'll work just fine. Just like China and Russia are trying to create their own cryptocurrency, whilst they are actively fighting against bitcoin. Doesn't really make sense but since the ledger is immutable, i guess it adds an extra layer of security. Theh central bank of each economy can still manipulate interest rates, inflation rates, all that jack. In 10 years time i can see a lot of countries having their own "altcoins" or their own "national cryptocurrency". Just like right now nations have their own fiat currency, but gold is still viewed as king, in my opinion bitcoin will be somewhat like gold to fiat currencies right now. For bitcoin to show what it's truly made of, an economic collapse in a major country has to occur. Unfortunately as it sounds, i believe when an economy collapses it's the perfect time for bitcoin to offer itself up to the task, thus gaining more users. $1 million per coin in 2027 due to inflation isn't impossible at all.

The most I expected was bitcoin could be a legal tender and also many countries that have given positive regulation of the bitcoin. So bitcoins are free to circulate and everything is set with a predetermined decision. This can certainly make the bitcoin price is increasing and also used by many people. Bitcoin can be equivalent to real money is the goal.
