Is anyone else apart from myself aware that sonm was hacked on there slack right at the point the ico was launched.

the hackers posted up a fake address which was made by what looked to be the sonm team this infact was the hackers. this went on for 2 miutes..as a result thousands of ether where sent to the wrong address along with loads of other btc ect. they have got away with hundreds of thousands if not millions of $$$.

i contacted them and they basically said nothing they can do. sonm you are fucking arseholes. they wouldnt release the adress on slack untill the last second. they should have released the address earlier and this wouldnt have happened. SONM then deleted all the info on slack to sweep this under the carpet.

and when it was released it was the wrong address. this resulted in my 43 eth being sent to some piece of shit hacker who is away with thousands of eth

Two types of money here:
a) Scammers sending their own money to their wallets to create this huge hype
b) Scammed people sending their money

Either way, getting hacked in the moment when you launch ... very irresponsible, even from scammers.

The scammer will try to spread the fake address to the participant but it seems like the dev is a lack of the responsibility to save his investors. i gay if the scammer try to make a panic buy to the investors and can get those are feeling panic gets sending on the fake address, To securing the investors it already become the team's responsibility.

It's sad to see that about 900 ETH was already sent to wrong addresses as the team couldn't manage to stop the issue in time. They blocked the participants on the announcement channel due to this and kept the access limited. They should have released the addresses before hand to avoid this confusion.

That's what happens when a bunch of kids make a project, and give an ICO to collect money, forgetting securities that should be taken to protect investors' funds. It is all about money. The same shit happened to NVO Crowdsale – they had technical problems with the site due to hackers, and their Slack was full of scammers, but the difference is that NVO paused their crowdsale, they had released the addresses before, put the funds under escrows, and cleared their Slack properly (Thanks to Lauda).

This is what you get when you throw money at a coin with centralized initial distribution (aka ICO). Using slack (or any moderated forum) to do it is another stupid move.

Absolutely no aspect of a coin should be centralized.

Not your keys, not your coins!

Fuck. That's horrible. I wanted to invest, but when I read ANN thread here I change my mind. Team of devs doesn't seem very professional or responsible.

Thats a lot dude. Sorry.  I almost fell for the same thing and was about to send my ETH.  Not to mention, I had ALOT of difficulty getting the site to work, almost 2 hours and I emailed one of the guys on Slack and got a limited response.  I'm not too thrilled about this to be honest.
