I'm not sure I really understand what the side bet is, and how much it will cost every week...

I'm not sure I really understand what the side bet is, and how much it will cost every week...

So how can I get a general consensus of who wants to do the weekly total point match ups, and of those people, for how much Monero?

I'm thinking of playing and proposing to bet anything from 0.25-1 XMR.

Well everyone has not chimed in yet and since this week has already started you should shoot for having all the wrinkles worked out by next week. I hold so few BTW if I chipped in 1 every week I would have none left! Alphabay murdered me.

Ohhh.. no it's not every week.

So there are 14 weeks (I think?) in the regular season for fantasy football, so we would have a competition every week for the total amount of points between everyone and then whoever won the most weeks at the end of the regular season would win the side bet.

Again.. we don't have to do this side bet if you guys don't want too... but I figured it would give people on bye weeks something interesting to look forward too/play for

It's a fine idea. But I'm okay either way.

Actually I got my tickets earlier today!  And you know, I was talking to jwinterm on IRC and he had a good point that who ever would win the side bet would probably win the overall bet as well... soo... just forget what I was proposing...

Huh If the highest points for the entire schedule wins then it stands to reason that team would have the highest average therefore winning most weeks and would win both.

Actually, I had assumed we were talking about a side bet on the team with the highest number total number of points for the entire season, but I like the above idea too.  And I had assumed we would be betting a single amount, not a weekly amount.

Basically, just looking for a way to stay engaged on the bye weeks.  (And I have been in plenty of leagues where the championship team was not the one with the highest points or most wins...so it's definitely not a given that the same team would take both. )

Again, count me in for up to 1 XMR total on the side bet, either total number of points for the regular season or the team with the most number of weeks with the highest total points.  Perfectly OK with a lesser amount as well.

I was thinking of a situation where I have a bye week but my players score 1000 pts. I still don't get a win. But then the following week my team can score 80 points and still beat your team that only got 79 points. Different players dominate each week.

How about this, we do a small bet like .015 every week for whoever gets the most points that week including their bench! And that bet is optional for instance I decide OK I think my entire team bench included will do well this week I opt in wor that week and the bet is split up between those that opted in for that week?

And a Bet on whoever wins the most weeks or gets the most points for the season minus the playoffs is a good idea but I would not join that bet as The autodraft really fucked me, it changed my entire draft order and i have WR's and spare TE instead of a QB, RB and Def I needed. Or maybe I would join it if I can make my team acceptable after this weeks waiver pickups.

I guess there are lots of ways of doing the side bet.... I know lt8877 is wanting to do something for a sidebet, is anyone else genuinely interested in doing a side bet, and if so what system do you guys want to do?  Either:

A) Total amount of wins per week amongst everyone in the league

B) Total amount of points per season amongst everyone in the league

C) Total amount of points including the bench amongst everyone in the league per week or per season

or

D) Something else

I guess I'd pick B (not including the bench!). Pick A is ok too. Not C: When any of my star players has a bye week, I don't want to drop him from the bench just to pick up some dude to replace him and possibly win a side bet, lol. We should all have good enough players to potentially win most points (except Heuristic!  Undecided )

I'm on the fence about side bets, anyway. But I'll join if everyone else is into it.

LOL, I before E and U before E when referring to me. Wink

I would only be interested in doing a small one every week not one that is settled at the end, unless it was a really low amount.

@lt8877 Well that was a great match-up it really came down to the defenses you pickup of the stealers was fantastic (browns suck I almost grabbed them but it was @Cleveland and decided to go with a home team:: W00ps) and My Patriots got beat to shit! They may not be able to field a Defense at all next week! Congrats!!!  Cheesy

I would vote A then B then C.  But no worries if we just drop the side bet.

Yes, great game Hueristic - tough loss.  I agree that the Steelers D was a key pick-up.  I did not feel confident with the Seahawks going up against the Packers, even at home.  Feeling pretty lucky to get the W this week given that Evans and Ajayi were on bye and I left Fournette on the bench.  NFL week 1 definitely had its surprises.

I think I'm gonna hold onto chef rb. He was probably like #1 point producer last week. I'll think about a counter...

Yeah, I don't blame you. Smiley
I was away and didn't get my waiver picks in on time and wanted to snag him. I'm not sure what the order was. I'm pretty happy with my team anyway. Still at casino now so i'm online sporadically. If hadn't picked the pats for D last week I might have had a chance I really didn't look at the numbers but my Def spread was like 28 or some huge number. Smiley

W0w, glad I didn't play phishead this week!!! Brady/Gronk went insane! Would you have played Anderson (he went nuts as well) if Johnson wasn't on IR? That worked out really well, I don't think I've ever seen him put up those numbers before.

Brady/Gronk = stronk ... just hopefully his "groin" issue isn't that big of a deal like he says

And honestly, I don't think I would've played CJ but glad I did! Might have to reconsider my starters/flex if CJ keeps posting up big numbers.

Going to try and keep OP updated with the current standings

Thats cool, I think we are all even with one win and one loss except the team that had the first bye so that pretty nice to see. Smiley

I'm finding it a fun challenge to stream my D and QB each week. I got really lucky that Crabtree went Nuts with Jordy Nelson missing almost the entire game! Funny thing is I was going to put new Pats RB in for flex but at the last minute heard that Crabtree just turned 30 and there was talk of him being to old so I swapped him back in figuring he might pull a Steve smith and he did! Cheesy

So who wants to do a trade??? I've got some juicy guys on my bench. Cheesy
