Giving out Ethereum Address

I'm looking to purchase a mining rig on Ebay. The seller has offered to update it with my wallet address before shipping it. Is this ok? I'm new to the cryto world and just wanted to check.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Its ok to give public addresses but don't ever give anyone your private key as they will have access to your coins if they have the copy of your private key.
