Best way to parse the blockchain?

What are the different tools out there that can parse the blockchain and let me maintain the utxo set?
My requirements:

actively maintained
open source
able to either work on top of bitcoind or bitcoinj

I have considered insight, Iquidus, toshi among others. Need help in selecting one.

Also, how can I get the "current" utxo snapshot without downloading the blockchain, say if I trust someone.
