So I plan to add a second card to my PC, currrently I have a 7970 and I could go for another 7970 or I was thinking maybe the 7950... I would really prefer an overclocked 7950 which is about 260 with 4 games or the 7970 is 300 also with 4 games...

I know a lot will say gpu's are dead ect and yes I know about the asics, but still, which would you go for?

you are not going to get your money back ... but a GPU is a GPU .. better use another 7970 for Xfire and enjoy some good looking games for a long time :>

Check if your PSU can provide enough power also.

Well I will still have some fun all the same and like you say there is the gaming option... Obviously this is not aimed and mining bitcoin btw...

So what you reckon? 7950 or 7970?

Power should be okay. TX750

For litecoin (or other scrypt coins), the 7950 is a good card.  TX750 maximum for 7950s would be 2.

I got 3 7950 so I can vouch for em. good cards. Just make sure you got at least 6gb ram for scrypt mining.

CGMiner doesn't seem to use any system RAM on mine, not sure if that applies to all cards or just those with high GPU RAM.
