Pretty good article.  I liked this quote:

Also, the discussion on how Bitcoin needs to move towards being used for less nefarious purposes was vaild I thought.

the regulators keep saying that regs are necessary b/c of money laundering.

why do they never mention the #1 currency in the world used for money laundering; let alone the major entities using it for that purpose?

Simple - it's regulator-speak for:

"We can't afford for people to have true financial freedom. We'll be enacting laws to benefit our already wealthy constituents and campaign contributors."
