I personally don't think it's a terrible investment, so which altcoin do you consider being the best investment?

Why would you call it a scamcoin whereas its doing very good for itself?

the only thing that ethereum did good was to have its price increased! meaning profit for those who got in early. it is not doing good in any other aspect.
- it has a big premine of 70+ million which is 77% of current total supply
- it doesn't have any cap meaning it will keep on producing supply (more supply + less demand = price drop)
- it has a buggy code, it can easily be abused through smart contracts just like how DAO abused it.
- the cost of creating a smart contract is pretty high compared to other platforms. so a regular developer can not work with ethereum easily without spending a lot of money.
- the transaction costs (the fees) are rising and last time i checked they are $1.4 on average.

it is a terrible investment right now because it is in a bubble and if you read that link you can see what the risks ICOs are causing are. which means there is a much bigger risk of a big drop than there is any risk of rise.
it was certainly a very good investment before i even made a topic back when it was a good time to invest in it hint: price was 0.007-0.01BTC

as for which other altcoin, any other altcoin that has not been pumped has more potential of giving profit than this.

Investors beware you are investing in a alt, and alts look promising for quiet a while, before they go bust though Ethereum has done good choosing it over bitcoin is a big risk and in the end its price will drop then there will be complaints here, I would advise you to rethink of it and stick to Bitcoins and a small amount in ether, that also I am not keen to do personally, I like Bitcoins only.

Think, 3 months ago 1ETH cost $ 20, now 20 times more expensive, this means that now to work in a decentralized application on ether, you need to spend 20 times more money. And further can be even more expensive. And imagine that someone will make a forum or social network on the ether, and in order for the user to show some kind of activity - to write a message or like a message, then he will have to pay for everything... It seems like nowadays the trend is directed towards wanting a centralized leader, which is very understandable when you see the problems bitcoin is facing with decentralization. The market doesn't think too much. It used to think that decentralization was the way to go, but then problems arose, so it switched to centralization. I wonder how long it can last. I don't own ETH. Still thinking it's too late to get in the train. I was already thinking the same 2 months ago, mind you. I kind of regret my previous stance regarding ETH (cenralized = bad) but I learnt a lot about market psychology, recently, so next time I'll try to put some perspective into my own stances. It's not like I haven't learnt my lesson.

I think most investors here are regretting they did not invest their money to Ethereum the time it is so cheap. They thought just like other altcoins, Ethereum will die, but it didn't. It pumps and proved that it will be following bitcoin at the top. I did invest some of my bitcoins to Ethereum, also in some ICOs that is running today.

Remember if ethereum will have the more update about the project tu push the price of token for the investors and they can get decent profit from them. I mean the more update will make it to be real in near future.

Whatever it is, time will tell the truth whether ethereum could reach $1000 in the end of the year or not. But current price of eth consider as top 5 altcoins which has higher price than many others. I remember in the early of this year, when ethereum price was $18 per 1 eth and today it could reach $373 USD, if I invest on that time then I must feel rich right now .

learn the market flow my friends... it won't always be the same, when an altcoin rises 10 fold it doesn't mean it will continue rising 10 fold all year long every month giving the same amount of profit! it means now it is time for those who invested at the bottom months ago are cashing out to take that 10 fold profit.

Ethereum is doing good because of lots of ICO based on ERC20 token and to exchange the token in marketplace again we need gas for transaction . Because of this ethereum gaining value . Be cautious about this ICO's.

I will wait till ETH will reach 10 000 than will probably by a house.
I can not see any other coin potentialy to reach 10k.

This can do only ETH and BTC.
But as I missed BTC train, ETH is my choice atm.

I think we will get 10k about 2020,maybe even earlier.
