This auction is for the PaperSafe Silver Satoshi Note #000405 + 1 Ounce .999 Fine Silver Coin + Original Signed & Embossed White Paper Sleeve.

TL;DR -- You want this. Bid now.

I've decided to place this rare collectible on a short auction for four (4) days only. (NO RESERVE.)

If you're a serious collector, then you already know all about the 2017 PaperSafe Silver Satoshi Note. For all new collectors, here is the story. Only ten (10) of these highly collectible and very beautiful Silver Satoshi notes were ever created and assembled by the PaperSafe Company.

Each serial number starts with #0004, and this particular note is #000405. (In other words, this is note #05 out of only 10 notes ever made.)

Originally designed by BG4 of PaperSafe and mounted inside a tamper resistant, crystal clear acrylic display slab with matching .999 Fine Silver Collectible Coin. This is, without a doubt, one of the most interesting and most beautiful bitcoin crypto-collectibles on the market!

As the few other Silver Satoshi Note owners have said, it's really hard to capture the true beauty and complexity of these PaperSafe Silver Satoshi Notes in a few photos. For example, the notes are printed in separate layers at different levels, which is difficult to notice unless you've held one in real life and examined it from many different angles. (You can see the serial number in the top left corner as an example. When viewed straight on, it appears centered. However, when seen at an angle, it is partially covered by the top artwork.) The stunning, multi-level, intricate design on these Silver Satoshi Notes is truly magnificent!

This auction has a very low starting bid of only .01 BTC.

Don't sleep on this one. Bid today!

Start Time: Immediately
End Time: Friday, June 23, 2017 @ 9PM EST. (See countdown timer above.)
No-Sniping Rule / Grace Period: There will be a grace period of ten (10) minutes following the last bid. When ten (10) minutes pass without a new bid, the auction will be officially ended. For example, if someone places a bid on Friday, June 23 at 8:55PM, then the auction will extend until 9:05PM. If another bid is placed at 9:03PM, then the auction extends until 9:13PM, and so forth.

Starting Bid: .01 BTC
Bid Increments: 0.01 BTC

The winning bid should be sent to the following address: 1Nk23oY6VtLey8gnBSfzUUNUJdixDjvnto.

Please feel free to ask questions.

Good luck, everyone!

Chris

Can you explain how the private key works?

TL;DR: An encrypted private key is visible on the back of the note. In order to decrypt the encrypted private key, you need the decryption password. The password is hidden under a tamper-proof holographic sticker. Peel the sticker to reveal the decryption password. Scan the QR code of the encrypted private key, then you will be prompted to enter the decryption password. Enter the password to reveal the REAL private key to spend any funds that you may have loaded onto the note.

Here's the full explanation from its creator about the encrypted private key. (Please note the final sentence. LOL)

"The only way to use the private key is with a password. That password can be anything... I make them 10 digits long to make them extremely to nearly impossible to brute force. The encryption/decrypting process is time consuming.

So, when I create the keys for the Papersafe Note. I first print the random password from a spreadsheet like program. This is done in bulk... its total random and it doesnt matter what the password is..   I type that random password into bitaddrsss.org to encrypt the private key ... The public address and the encrypted private key are then printed on the notes.

To redeem the funds from an encrypted private key ..you would scan the private key QR code ...I use my phone and blockchain.info app..there are other wallet apps that do this also.... It then asks for the password....type in the password ....it decrypts to a private key that can then spend the funds....

A PaperSafe Satoshi Note has the encrypted private key and public address printed visibly. The Password is covered with a tamper evident scratch off and a self destructing holographic sticker. To view the Password , you have to peel the hologram sticker off then scratch the scratchoff, revealing the password.

To reveal the password... The hologram has to be removed to access the scratch off....   this is not a quick rip it off hologram , but with care will do what it is meant to do...

First thing you want to do is warm up the area ... since you would be destroying the note by removing the hologram... rubbing you finger back and forth across the area to create friction will warm the adhesive enough to release without tearing paper. a hair dryer may work also..  This is a self destruction hologram... it will leave a lot of the adhesive and parts of the hologram behind.. If the paper starts to tear.... then it needs to be warmed up a little more ..   I found that a sharp pointed blade like an xacto hobby knife, to start the process was helpful...  once the hologram is removed there will be a lot of sticky on the scratch off....  the back of a knife is useful to gently scrape it off....once most of the sticky is lightly scraped off...then a coin can be used to scratch and reveal the password. I use a Bitcoin Penny to do this ... just because."
(Emphasis mine.)

Chris Wink

Perfect thanks! I was unsure if the original buyer was the one that set up the decryption password or not.
