I have been going nuts trying to decide what to mine, and have ended up splitting my mining resources between like 6 different coins on two computers, which is ridiculous and inefficient. I am looking for a coin to get behind and mine non-stop for the next few months or longer. Would prefer a "newer" coin, so leaning away from LTC... Here is what I'm trying to decide between ATM:
- BTB - FTC - CNC - PPC - MNC? - TRC?
Anyone have a convincing reason to pick a certain one?

None of them. Stick with LTC.

My name was simply a play on "Blue Engineer" from Team Fortress. I am not affiliated with Microsoft or the Azure project.

I think it is good to diversify. Don't pick just one. The coins on your list seem like a good start to me, so why not mine all of them?

At some point it's not diversification anymore. With everyone dropping their own alt coin right now it's impossible to say what is actually a viable alt currency and what is just a pump and dump scam.

LTC as a backup/main coin, couple of days of mining of all the others if/when their difficulty is low

Best: pick a coin that is brand new. Timing can be tough on this one - you'll have to live on the message boards.
2nd Best: pick a coin that is currently unpopular and has a low hash rate.
3rd Best: pick a coin with a block reward that is dropping over time (such as PPC)
An anecdote: back when PPC first came out, I bought a bit over 100k for around 10BTC, about $100 total at the time. Eventually I decided to sell the off for about 16 BTC and patted myself on the back at the time. Then they hit the exchanges and would now be worth 250+ BTC, well over $25k.
Since you can't know the future, your best bet is to collect a small stake in any coin that you can get your hands on, cross your fingers, and wait.

Go with LTC. If you want to do more than 1 coin, then use LTC as main, and do FTC on the side.

I generally watch coinchoose.com and mine the most profitable which is LTC atm. But it had been CNC leading up to it being added on btc-e.

LTC is my choice of ALT coin, though I do mine the others at the moment to convert into BTC and LTC

I've looked at them all, nothing really stands out. But then again, BTC didn't stand out to me either.
A lot of them seem silly though, wasn't one of them set so that the difficulty never goes up, and the reward is always the same? What happens when we get a new block every second?
I will be keeping an eye out though, spread my BTC around a little bit just in case something new comes and takes over. I see BTC here for a long time though, since it has a big head start.

Terracoin. Very similar to Bitcoin, but with faster confirmation. Also currently its twice as profitable to mine. Also if you have a Bitcoin service or website, you could just change one line of code to have it work with Terracoin too. Honestly though you should diversify. I have every major altcoin, even if its just a little bit. Also the next two people who say TRC also give me an terracoin address too so I can send some to you.

I think the market is going to be full of these alt-coin chains for a while. But i have no idea why anyone starts up a SHA256 coin....anyone points an asisc at those and it screws it all up.
