I just use Windows 10 and Nicehash.  Make sure to turn off auto updates within Windows 10

Windows 10 LTSE version seems very stable for mining any type of cryptocurrency, if you are a geek, you can always go for Linux and try your skills to maximise your power to the network. If you're new to all of this, I'll recommend you to go with Windows 10.

For stability, LINUX is the best choice (or one of the mining-specific LINUX variations) from the point of stability.
