Any way you look at it Ethereum single-handedly brought back GPU mining, and really ushered in the golden era of mining of 2017-2018, and if you were an early adopter of GPU mining ETH in 2016 and you held your Ethereum coins... you're probably retired! One of the key factors when it comes to GPU mining Ethereum is the grassroots impact it can have, it allows essentially anyone to participate in supporting the ETH network and getting rewarded with some Ether for doing so. ASIC miners like the Antminer E3 and Innosilicon A10 absolutely own the Ethereum network now, and the once "asic-resistant" Ethereum / Ethash mining algorithm is now unfortunately anything but that. still mining eth here, april to july/aug should be really interesting between some asic 4 gig hash falling off and if the devs do what they are SUPPOSED to do and fork to progpow.

I have a sneaking suspicion tho that the E3s and A10s owned by large farms will be stealth upgraded so they can stay on the network.

I just cannot belive Innosilicon and Bitmain left no path forward for ther large buyers.  I mean they have know for at least a year plus this was coming

I'm still mining Ethereum with 5x gtx1060 6gig variants and I'm loving it, I have free electricity which is a huge favour for me and I'm planning on building solar panels and batteries in near future, will be great if ETH goes ProgPow
