The real situation- market not need you investment now. Grow of practical using have only BITCOIN. With current high and unstable price levels impossible to use any altcoin.

Expect BITCOIN, BITCOIN special.
BITCOIN used like international money transfer.
If you take some BITCOIN from market like you investment - price grow, because not enough liquidity (USD) for international money transfer.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Altcoins are good for trade. Bitcoin market share is only shrinking. You may lose some good money/Bitcoin is you just hold it.

If you don't want altcoins, then just trade with the goal of increasing your Litecoin holdings. And don't trade 100% of your stash, of course.
