Conclusion?

Should we keep or sell our rx 480/580?
You may have big one time profit. I also sold some RX cards with good profit that partially paid me another new Nvidia rig.
What about purchasing a cheap rig? I have my eyes on a 6x 580 8gb rig for around 3k AUD.
Maybe Rx 470 4gb? Almost same hash that 580
I aggree that 470 is powerful enough and has okay hashrate. But the whole mining is way too quick updating staff, and if u wanna make some real money u need to upgrade ur hardware
I have 2 Rx 470. I want to mine What I can then 1 year from now or maybe less If mining with AMD is still profitable, You buy new hardware.

amd will be less and less profitable because they have only ethereum and the diff is continue to grow, when eth go down amd gpu will be useless, and all the other coin will also come down, you won't make anymore money

The RX 580 will do ~315 H/s on ZEC. The Claymore epoch benchmark figures are just an estimate and largley overstated. In my own test with a five card RX 480/580 8GB and 570 4GB rig. The benchmark at epoch 129 for the five cards was ~143.3 MH/s, at epoch 130 the benchmark was ~142.5 MH/s. The actual current dual mining hash is ~144.1 MH/s dual mining with DCR. Even a 10% drop in the RX cards ETH hash in 6 months can be offset by addding a single $200 RX 570 4 GB card.

Where does the huge difference on ZEC mining coming from between 1070 and rx580?
At ETH a GTX 1070 has similar MH/s than the RX580 but at ZEC it has 50% more (~ 480 Sol/s). From gaming perspective they are also very similar from performance.

And yes, this is a serious question as i'm interested in technical details due to my work in IT business Smiley

ETH and derivatives are very "memory hard" due to the algo used - and as AMD 8GB RX-series cards have the SAME memory clocks and bandwidth as GTX 1070 cards, they end up being similar in hashrate when the memory access is optimised (the NVidia cards seem to use higher-performance memory settings by default in their BIOS than AMD uses).

Other coins mostly use algos that are more core-limited, so the higher clocks on the GTX 1070 and similar number of cores vs the RX 470/570 make the 1070 quite a bit faster (the 480/580 have higher core count but clock a LOT lower, so the 1070 still wins there).

Is there any free cloud mining site for mining the ETH, litecoin or doge coin. I want to make at-least 1$ worth of coin per day. Kindly share here the number of site that is offered free mining.

Is there already a drop for AMD cards at dag 132?

Free mining? Are you sure? You want free money per day?

I mean, I could go to town on a post like this, but use your brain for a second.

I have been getting less than a 0.1 MH/s drop for each card with each new epoch while dual mining.

Is there already a drop for AMD cards at dag 132?

I'm getting -1.5 MH/s on 6x GPUs, and it scared me because I though that the graphics are going to die soon or the electricity is not going well or something else with the heat.

But seems that this DAG has affected all GPUs right? Why? I'm dual mining too, is this one of the reason or it doesn't matter?

Thank you...

It looks like Polaris had another drop of 0.4%. I guess every dag will be increasing, next dag expect 0.45% and then 0.53% and so on. The funny thing is, as the dag increases, your rx card becomes less and less valuable, soon gamers will buy a rx 580 for less than $150 hehe, also this is goood by the way, cause i see eth rising, soon eth will be 0.15 btc again and it might reach 0.3 in the next 2 months or so. If eth reduction kicks in then it might make eth to rise to 0.5 btc. So watch out hehe and thank me later hehe

It affects RX4xx/5xx but not older AMD or NVIDIA cards.

Gotta wonder where this insanity is originating from.

Why would ANY site offer this sort of thing instead of keeping the coin for themselves?

Yes, there are "faucets" - but you're not going to pull in $1/day from THOSE.

Count the R7/9 3xx too up to 280x.

My drop is about 0.4% for a 5-card rig of mixed RX 4XX/5XX 4GB and 8GB cards.

Epoch 131:

Code:
19:12:09:144	9fc	target: 0x0000000112e0be82 (diff: 4000MH), epoch 131(2.02GB)
19:12:09:144 9fc ETH - Total Speed: 144.835 Mh/s, Total Shares: 3804, Rejected: 0, Time: 29:49
19:12:09:144 9fc ETH: GPU0 28.847 Mh/s, GPU1 29.328 Mh/s, GPU2 29.223 Mh/s, GPU3 29.216 Mh/s, GPU4 28.222 Mh/s
19:12:09:144 9fc DCR - Total Speed: 3620.885 Mh/s, Total Shares: 12088, Rejected: 121
19:12:09:144 9fc DCR: GPU0 721.164 Mh/s, GPU1 733.188 Mh/s, GPU2 730.568 Mh/s, GPU3 730.407 Mh/s, GPU4 705.558 Mh/s

Epoch 132:

Code:
19:13:19:631	9fc	target: 0x0000000112e0be82 (diff: 4000MH), epoch 132(2.03GB)
19:13:19:631 9fc ETH - Total Speed: 144.269 Mh/s, Total Shares: 3808, Rejected: 0, Time: 29:50
19:13:19:631 9fc ETH: GPU0 28.789 Mh/s, GPU1 29.206 Mh/s, GPU2 29.143 Mh/s, GPU3 29.003 Mh/s, GPU4 28.127 Mh/s
19:13:19:631 9fc DCR - Total Speed: 3606.716 Mh/s, Total Shares: 12094, Rejected: 121
19:13:19:631 9fc DCR: GPU0 719.733 Mh/s, GPU1 730.159 Mh/s, GPU2 728.575 Mh/s, GPU3 725.070 Mh/s, GPU4 703.179 Mh/s

The Claymore benchmarks figures show a progressive gradual drop of up to 25% through epoch 160, which I found to be overstated compared to the actual epoch drop. Even if not fixed, adding a single $220 RX 570 4GB card can offset most of that drop. There are also indications from one of AMD's lead developers that the issue does not affect SGminer in Linux with OpenCL 2.0.
