https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=186041.msg2040798#msg2040798Quote from: CasinoBit I think it is a bit tasteless when the PR person of a company insults a critic of that company even if the critic is wrong, can't we all have a civil, logical discussion and whoever wins at the battle of arguments and counter-arguments will hold the credibility in the public's eyes?
Quote from: MPOE-PR That was about three months ago. You must be new.
Quote from: CasinoBit despite his Armenian descent he could have been more considerate of other nations.
Quote from: MPOE-PR Wait, what?!
Quote from: CasinoBit Way to spin it off, the idea is that some people of European or Asian descent don't really fully comprehend the negative connotation associated with the N word in the western media. No, the idea is that pretty much nobody gives a shit. This world is composed of something like ten billion people. The half billion or so currently navel grazing the "race" issue as understood in the continental US don't matter in any sort of way, neither historically (guess what, people have been living in mixed race environments for millennia pretty much everywhere else, and especially in Europe and Asia) nor culturally (guess what, pretty much any solution is better than pretty much any solution the US proposed so far - like PC bullshit). The pretense to the contrary is amusing, in that it is specific and well documented US-style ignorance (which incidentally goes a long way to prove race per se has nothing to do with it: get some people geographically isolated and they'll develop local brands of idiocy much like genetically isolated populations develop genetic disorders).

You guys never miss out on a trolling opportunity do you?
That looks like you took the ED "nigger" article as a template to write the blog post, such an obvious flame bait.

I don't understand what you're trying to make up excuses for, the idea is that due to the history of the land you want to be the utmost considerate person you can be and approach the situation in a manner that doesn't open up old wounds and puts salt on them. Mircea has failed to do so, not because he is an evil ignorant person but because he is (perhaps) naive or simply posses little social intelligence like the rest of us nerds. Let me give you an example that takes it a step further, I was taking a walk with my dog in the park and there was an elderly lady there that broke down in tears and got a panic attack when she saw my German Shepard, I later found out that she was a holocaust survivor and that specific breed of dog has resurrected old horrible memories. Perhaps it was legally and morally acceptable to walk my dog in the park but I apologized and left regardless out of consideration of other peoples feelings. You need to be considerate of other peoples feeling even if they are irrational and don't appear to have any reason behind them in your little selfish world. That word hurts so much to the dark skinned members not because of the definition but because it brings back all the hate.

Best of luck resolving this issue haha, even though I have a pretty good feeling nothing will come about this.

Imagine if someone had made a blog post denigrating European history, culture or religion. Like let's say someone espoused the viewpoint that Europeans caused massive suffering on a global scale for this or that reason (culture, etc.) Would there be a tremendous hue and cry? Of course not, it happens every day and nobody gives a shit (and nobody should).
Mem is now libeling SatoshiDice on his "Mem's Shilling List". He defends sites that have stolen hundreds of bitcoins but spreads malicious lies about reputable sites. He's a liar and a shill. He's not sufficiently competent nor honest enough to serve as some kind of industry watchdog. Luckily, barely anybody takes his bullshit "gambling list" seriously.

People, we are all cosmopolitans living on the same planet. We all get born, we all bleed red and we all die when our time has come. People who consider races or countries an issue are mentally 50 years behind us. Stop flaming stupid people for being stupid, as you can't blame stupid people for being stupid.

Yes I can. Stupidity, when repeated at least, is a deliberate choice. Ignorance can cause stupid results, but when you REPEAT it, you did it on purpose. Maybe careless forethought and planning, but definitely deliberate. In nature, stupidity is a capital crime. Judgment is immediate, fair, and utterly impartial. Catering to the stupid will yet be the downfall of the race known as "human" if we don't stop making excuses for it.

Hard to do that when in many cases, they are the ones with the monopoly of force we call the government, and are wrecking the world we live in with their insane policies. And yes, I know you mean stupid people here. But stupidity kills, and not just the stupid.

Something like this. On the internet nobody knows you're a dog, or a 15yo. At least not until you start barking like a 15yo. as you can't blame stupid people for being stupid.
Sure I can. Watch me do it every day.

Nope, I don't want that. What I want is for you & co to not be telling me what I want. That word hurts so much to the dark skinned members not because of the definition but because it brings back all the hate.
Alternatively, it's just a convenient excuse for welfarism and social entitlement programs. PS. I'm pretty sure you're lying re your little park anecdote there. For one, the Holocaust happened a good SEVENTY FIVE years ago. For your putative old lady to have been old enough to form memories of any sort this makes her something like ninety. There's just not that many ninety year old Jewish ladies around to populate every park in which some hipster doofus with a hyperactive imagination might be happening to kill his idle and otherwise perfectly useless time. So, not only incredibly dishonest to try and equate something that happened within living memory with events long gone (incidentally, do you have a clue when the Civil War occurred, in the grand scheme of history?) but moreover, claiming something you read up in one of your idiotic books actually happened to you is...you know, on par with pick-up artistry. Guess what? I'm not piqued up by the nonsense, try it on somebody else.

Or, alternatively, it could have happened 10 years ago, thus the old lady would only have to be 70, which isn't that rare when you're visiting Israel. (don't need to be 15 to form memories) I still like Mem, Mircea, Erik and even you despite your daddy-issues which are far too obvious at times, I rather use my life to put people up rather than putting them down. On a side-note: Are you an archaeologist?

Wait wait. During your visit to Israel with your dog which is a German Shepherd you took a walk in the park at which point you scared an old lady because Holocaust. Did you fly the dog there or did it swim across the Mediterranean while you flew over it? Which park "in Israel"? Daddy issues my foot, what do you think this is, basketweaving psychanalysis class?

I don't even need to psychoanalyze you, I would bet my money on it, people who are so angry all the time usually come from dysfunctional families, no offense. I can give you a therapeutic hug if you want, so you stop being so angry all the time .
