Hi all,

My mate has the official Bitmain PSU for his L3+s and it's loud as shit. I was wondering if it's possible to use another type of PSU providing it doesn't need a MBO to power and has 9 PCI-E slots?

Apologies if this is a dumb question but just wanted to double check.

Can anyone recommend any PSU they're using for this?

Thanks

See this "DPS1200 Kit" in this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=940317.0

For a server psu HP DPS-1200 FBA has a reasonable noise level.

I have 2 L3+ and I use the DPS 1200 on both. I think I paid $20 each + $35 or $40 for the breakout board plus cables.

I see I see. Very interesting. In terms of noise what are they like?

How comes this is so cheap compared to brands like Corsair that charge a couple of hundred for this? Do they just use better components?

Thanks a lot for your help!
