Blockchain is one of the most highly recommend wallet and many will suggest you to opt for that. While coinbase.com is a exchange and though you can store your coins, they do not provide you your keys, so that's the only issue with coinbase.com however I recently saw they started their vault thing, not used that as it requires me to verify my identity, over all use of coinbase.com is simple but with Aug 1st looming many of us will have to switch away, even if we don't like it.

Blockchain is best compared to these two sites because I don't like to keep my money in any exchange sites. We don't know when they will close the site or block accounts for some reasons. Earlier some exchanges were offering no fee facilities to send coins so I was using xapo for regular transactions but never stored my coins in those sites.

Blockchain wallet is a bit buggy and only supports bitcoin, no alts, but as a wallet I would prefer blockchain over Coinbase because you can be sure that your account would not get blocked or banned with funds. In terms of security also, blockchain is good.

But apart from being a wallet Coinbase have buy/sell option and their merchant services are popular so people who prefer these would use Coinbase. But as a bitcoin wallet blockchain is better.

That suggestion is absolutely suicidal.  You're both insane.

Blockchain.info gives you access to your keys, but the actual process of using their wallet is terrible.  They leave gaping holes in their software for months on end, like when you couldn't set your fees in satoshi/byte and they set your fees to 100-120 satoshi/byte all the time.

Coinbase is even worse because they're an exchange, and holding your coins there relies on trust.  No Bitcoin wallet should ever rely on trust - you need to be using proper wallets.  If you don't want the inconvenience of running a full node then just use Electrum or something.  It's really not hard.

Yes! That makes sense, even they offer Coinbase user to user completely free transaction. But the coinbase is completely third party wallet, they always high risk involved, but other case blockchain like more secure than Coinbase. Moreover, Both are online wallet, that don't good further uses.

Blockchain is a better wallet in my opinion because you have the ability to sign messages when needed and you can import and export keys to another wallet with ease and there are fewer restrictions with the wallet as compared to Coinbase.

Don't believe that there is the best wallet to both Coinbase and Blockchain unless you have your own definition of the word best. I just want to asked you a question first, what is your purpose and goal? What I mean, why you are choosing those two? As a wallet? As to use their feature?

Blockchain is a pure web wallet while Coinbase is an exchange where you can use your fiat to buy bitcoin there while at the same time selling your bitcoins into fiat. Risk associated them are they are both web exchanges so if ever they shutdown, say goodbye to your coins.

Store your bitcoins in an desktop or offline wallet (recommended) and then transfer it to exchange which act as a third party when you want to buy something on the internet. Only do that when you want to do it. Explore exchanges where they are partners with some of the merchants or have some feature to use your bitcoin to buy a specific thing.

I think if you want to control your own private key you choose blockchain so that you have a backup of your bitcoin wallet address.. unlike coinbase that you don't have any tools to backup you private key.
and coinbase right now are always having issue and always unavailable so be careful of choosing of web wallet its still not safe than using a desktop wallet or a hardware wallet..

Blockchain.info cannot be considered the best wallet as it is the reason of many bitcoin newbies' transactions misery as well as its huge set of bugs and glitches. And since Coinbase is not safe because you don't hold your private keys (= you don't hold your funds), best bet is Electrum or Bitcoin Core (if you are willing to download 145 GB of data!).

Blockchain wallet become popular because they worn the name of blockchain network, and most newbies in bitcoin use this wallet without thinking the risks when they use this. I'm not saying that blockchain wallet is bad or worst wallet but I just recommend that don't store huge funds on this kind of wallet which is web wallets/accounts including coinbase. Both wallets do have its own disadvantage and advantage among another.When you do really prefer on using other coins than bitcoin then coinbase would really suits your needs but if you are just making transaction with bitcoin i will go surely on blockchain since i can able to know my private keys which you cant do on coinbase and also coinbase have the possibility of getting blocked when you violate their tos which you cant see on blockchain.

You're absolutely right. If placed against coinbase.com, blockchain takes the lead in terms of security. However, that isn't to say that blockchain doesn't have its own issues. Also, coinbase is discriminatory with its services as some countries are banned from using its services even after registering on its network.

I'd chose Blockchain.info between those two. Coinbase allows you to send offf-chain transactions but they don't give you the access to your funds you need to trust them, do a google search of MTGOX, CRYPTSY and there are more cases where exchanges failed to secure the coins. Bitcoin is made to be decentralized, not centralized like coinbase does, you need even to provide your information to coinbase but in general you don't need to give out any information to anyone to be able to use bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Blockchain.info on the other hand keep everything encrypted so that only you have the access with your password and ID to your funds. Please backup your seed as they give you an option for that, with that seed you are able to recover your funds if for some reason blockchain.info stop to provide their service.

Understand that you don't have to register anywhere to be able to use bitcoin. I'd suggest that you go and search on youtube how does bitcoin work, there are really great and well informative videos about this topic. Best would be in case you can to only keep the private keys within your device for extra security, once you understand what is a cold storage and what are paper wallets you might move there in case that you just want to hold your coins for a long term.

Both are equally bad. One side where blockchain wallets get hacked easily, coinbase blocks wallets until required proof is not submitted. It's risky to use both while xapo is better in that case as their support does respond and they don't block accounts without any reason like coinbase. Blockchain, with 2FA, also can be bad as sometimes the users aren't able to access their wallets even with a valid code.

Do you mean to say with ".info" and I personally will choose blockchain.info I've using it for times and I tried to use xapo and coinbase. But I'm not satisfied with their service so I want to come back and use blockchain.info the only disadvantage on it, is btc is the only wallet they are providing.

I would prefer to use blockchain.info wallet to coinbase dispite being a bitcoin only wallet. Coinbase might have the edge for users trading one of its supported cryptocurrencies  but the only downside of coinbase are some of its many restrictions which might put off people as the would avoid their funds being withheld

If we're talking about web wallet, Blockchain is still the best for users. Set your own fee and 2FA are the good feature from Blockchain but the cons is blockchain removed multiple address to send which is very sad to see.

Coinbase sometimes could froze your account, if they found any suspicious activities in your account so be aware with it.

Due to experience lots of excuses from coinbase i think coinbase is the best choice if you really want to use a good online wallet..
These past few weeks or months we are experience of unavailable in coinbase that is really annoying every month or every week we are seeing this issue about the wallet every time we are seen the price is increase sooner coinbase will unavailable reason they are updating the theme of the wallet or fixing the atm issue or any issue that they can be a reason..
Unlike blockchain that if they are experience of issue sooner they can solve the issue. .
