Hi,

I want to add 4 (or 5) "MSI GTX 1070 GAMING X 8G" but dont know what PSU is suitable for this amount of GPUs in one rig.
My GPU has this power connector: 6-pin x 1, 8-pin x 1
I have only these options to get PSU:

You can do 6 1070's if you pay a little more and go with the 1300W PSU.

A 1000W PSU will work with up to four 1070's with dual PCI-E power inputs. The 1000 W P2 has six PCI-E 6+2 cables and two of the cables have a 6-pin pigatail. I would suggest using an 8-pin splitter with two of the PCI-E 6+2 cables and the two 8-pin + 6-pin pigtail cables for the four 1070 VGA power inputs. You can then use the remaining two 6+2 PCI-E cables with a 8-pin splitter cable to power four PCI-E risers.

buy the 1200 platinum or 1300 gold, not the 1000, why the 1000 is good, right now it's better to push the gpu to at least 80% or more, and with a 1000 you can not, the system will reboot if you go beyond the maximum wattage, wiht 1200 you are more safe to overclock the gpu

That makes no sense as buying 2x 1000W is more expensive than simply buying 1x 1200W-1300W. The 1000W are about 150-180 dollars last time I checked and you can get the 1200W variety for around 280 dollars.

I'll go with Cooler Master v1200 (1200W) for 6 x MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8g as this is the only 1200W PSU i found with 12 x 6+2 connectors (each of the cards needs 6+8 connected or you cannot boot - with a splitter have fun, they have 230W TDP in real world and by far not the 150W showing on MSI Website Wink ).

If you plan to keep expanding that system, then hit at least the 1300, if that is as far as you are going to take that one, then 1000 or 1100 should be fine.  These things do vary, the amount of heat generated and not pulled off the system will cause a more inefficient power use.

Plus, whether or not you are going to use it in a server style, no monitor and SSH in after the initial setup or you want to have a lot of feedback information and use a monitor and keep software going with GUI's that tell you everything.

Even the local electric makes a difference, there can be a difference of up to 40 volts at the wall socket in some place up or down, 10 or 15 volts is no biggies and most things work fine or make internal adjustments, but once the drain is increased then major things can happen. It is better for a computer to have a complete power loss for a short period than to have too little power coming into the system.

 I'd suggest a different card, that doesn't need 2 power connectors.
 It will save you a LOT of grief tryining to get the cards powered.
