There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

I'm pretty sure he was just talking about the website's name, which is the same as crypto-games.net and yes it is pretty misleading.
I'm guessing they just wanted some of the success of Crypto-Games.net, which was the first one to use that name.
They claimed ignorance, although it's not very hard googling your name before you set up a domain.
Especially if you want to establish a brand, that should be common sense.
Yeah, I would even go as far to avoid such sites from the start, since you can almost be sure that they aren't serious about their brand.
I just hope that no-one ever goes to that website thinking it's from the same owners as Crypto-games.net.

There are many cheap rip off sites which try to make money by using other brand's name. Most of these sites will just stay active for some days and then just take our money and never reply. Lots of allegations on this site and it seems to be dead from months. Only play in recommended and ranked sites.

I used to play on cryptogames.io too in the past. I made some deposit and withdrawal too. But since they stopped their promotion and left this forum without paying the last promotion, I decided to stop to play on that site.

These are tricks scammers use to steal money from players. Some people use an even same theme of the main site so that people confuse and deposit money. We should be very careful before depositing money into any of these gambling sites. That's why I usually go to only trusted websites to gamble and mostly never take a risk in playing on any new gambling site.

I often gamble on well established sites like crypto-games that is why I do not know much about cryptogames.io . I only play on those sites whch have spend some good time on this forum and the members of this forum have positive reviews about that at all. I think that is the good strategy to remain away from scammers.

I thought we were discussing crypto-games.net and I was surprised to see this was cryptogames.io. Really misleading to be honest. I have not much info on that site, I only opened this because I thought it was the famous one.

Anyway, they might be intentionally avoiding you. Maybe try to open a scam accusation against them and see if they respond there.
Just want to confirm that we, Crypto-Games.net (founded in 2014) have nothing in common with cryptogames.io (founded in 2015). Still I hope OP get his coins back.

It was a clear attempt to defraud people using that name. There is no better reason they have to use that name for their site and using a .io domain. Usually, .io are mostly linked to scams, though there are some that are legit, but a lot of scammers love to use this domains.
Yes must be a clear attempt to defraud from the word go else they would have settled for own unique name instead of riding behind the wings of an already established one. Before depositing in a new or any site one isn't conversant with, it is instructive to carry out due diligence and get the review of other people who might have used or tested the site, because scams abound on the internet.

The do this on purpose. They great their site to have the same name as another site that is popular so they will come up in Google searches more often. It's s very low down and dirty thing to do and just shows how far they willing to go. You should notice they share s name with s reputable casino and not used them. But it's ok we all make mistakes. Scammers like that just wait and prey on those mistakes.

Both of these sites has different admin I guess and even differeny development too. This is not matter of you know it or not but it is more likely you want to promote their site here from what I catched from your writing here. From the past cryptogames.io is pretty well known site but they turn out to scam people

So cryptogames.io is an actual site?
I thought it was a phishing link so to steal people's login id so to be able to steal their account balances on the legit site crypto-games.net.

All very confused in this so far. Undecided

I thought that the site has died already last year when there was no more updates here on their official thread. Anyway, why you did still play on this site while they have no active representatives on this forum?
Afaik it is owned by same person who manage dicecoin.io , and surprisingly the rep of dicecoin.io is also not active anymore here (last active almost at the same time time with the rep of cryptogames.io).
By the way, hope you did not make a big deposit there as I think there is no ways for you to get your money back.

I didn't see this post earlier but I am seeing dicecoin.io cryptogames.io and duckdice.io all owned by the same person.  When you go to dicecoin.io it redirects to duckdice.io now as well.  I ended up finding an old registrar page that listed an Edward jelly as the owner at one point (which also goes back to cryptogames.io).  So with your info and what I found independently in seems like it would be fair to go to duckdice for support or compensation on lost deposits.

Do not deposit at cryptogames.io

Doge and Litecoin deposits do not appear on your account.  There is no indication on the site itself that a deposit was made (the transaction shows up on the blockchain fine of course)

The owner/support for the site is no where to be found.  No replies to emails, Twitter, Facebook and they haven't been on bitcointalk in a year.  Maybe they are dead.

Good that you warned everyone. I may have been a victim.

I dont think duckdice.io is owned by same person who own cryptogames and dicecoin.io. I just tried to open dicecoin.io but it does not direct me to duckdice. So I guess asking duckdice.io will not give you anything regarding your issue.

Dicecoin.io redirects to duckdice.io for certain when I go there.  It's because I'm going to it from a US IP and if I use a VPN I can actually get to dicecoin.io.  Cryptogames.io also blocks USA users although that was a later in the history of the site when they started doing that.

USA is blocked by many dice sites but are you sure dicecoin redirects to duckdice if we visit from US IP? This sound quite serious now, if all three of this sites are connected than duckdice might also loss all the reputation they have earned so far. I have also played there and really like the user interface and support duckdice have.  Angry

I have also played there and really like the user interface and support duckdice have.  Angry

Yes.  I'm 100% it redirects to duckdice. I have ever actually seen the dicecoin.io page until you mentioned it not redirecting for you.

Angry

Tested (from usa):

It's a referral link, but not sure why would they redirect to them. It's indeed a possibility that cryptogames.io = duckdice.io = dicecoin.io
