Hi guys, I want to start investing in eth but I am confused whether to buy eth or convert btc to eth. There is only one eth marketplace in India. And also I don't want to submit my kyc on every website. Therefore I am considering converting. Which converting service is good shapeshift, chaangelly, poloniex ?

Even I would like to know more on this because what I heard was Poloneix is better and I think they even do not require KYC when we convert BTC to ETH their.

Also is some one selling ETH on this forum then also they can let us know.

Poloniex is comparatively better than other options actually so will suggest that if you want to buy from a website.
If you want to buy from a trader here then do keep an escrow and buy because there are lots of scammers out there.

From personal experience. Don't use poloniex.
Lately they have been acting shady and have "lost" many withdrawals including 250 Golem of mine.
Just read the service discussion forum and there are lots of complaints regarding this.

Its best if you do it thru Bittrex.
They are better IMO

You can try shapeshift to convert BTC to ETH. They have an awesome support. Lately there has been delays due to network congestion. Also JAXX wallet supports multiple currencies and integrated shape shift api to convert BTC to ETH on the app itself.

Personally I use kraken. Its good.
No verification needed if you only trade crypto to Crypto.

Polo gives a wide variety of coins.

I would suggest bittrex for converting bitcoin to ethereum and also Poloneix is also having good review but i never tried that because my investment is always very small i could suggest bittrex is good to start with once you comfort then you can go with other exchanges.

I would suggest you can convert your bitcoin to ethereum there will be transaction charges while your sending from your wallet to exchanges but its far better than premium amount will be deducted while you buy directly. i would suggest Poloniex is reliable as far my experience.

Since there are many opinions, i will break this down for you,Poloniex , bittrex ,kraken etc are exchanges and you have to spend transaction charges sending the coins to and fro while shapeshift and changelly will convert your coins pretty fast without any hurdle and you will get the coins at the exact market rate and you could save money doing so.

So shapeshift or changeably will not charge me transferring btc? I had transferred btc to poloniex and it deducted some amt of btc and it charged me again when I exchanged them for eth.
