Everything is made in China right now for two reasons. One, they have spent a lot of capital developing factory infrastructure for fabrication. Two, the major reason, is that labor is pretty much fucking free in China. With all that population, the labor market is sodden; the lack of regulation also allows companies to operate with much less capital outlay. Regulations are expensive, what with keeping your environment and workers safe. Fuck that noise, said China, and hence we have a million plastic things that are sold at Walmart and discount stores

And it's not just China, it's where ever in the world you have too many people, not enough jobs, and no government oversight of major industry. There was a time when it seemed like all the clothes were 'hecho en Mexico,', and Cambodia and India used to make a great deal of textile shit for the American market. First of, China's man power is really huge due to it's population. Second, The cost of raw materials and the labor cost in china is very cheap. The main objective of the company is to earn, to do that they must find a way to cut off their expenses. The reason why all products are made in china is the labor cost. Labor cast in china is very low and man power is high which is an advantage for larger companies to save some money. China actually built all qualities of products from third quality to high quality and then they distribute the product according to market.

Don't say all because we can still find some things that aren't made in China, but most useful things that are cheap are made in China specially some helpful tools that are quite good to use so it is a good thing. I personally use some items made in China, a solar powered lamp made in China that I am usinh for a few years now and it is still working fine, even my electric fan that was bought 1 year ago and is made in China is pretty durable and is still running in a pretty good condition, so I trust the quality of China's products.

The freakin huge population, no doubt is the main reason for this. Labor is so freakin cheap, companies moved their manufacturing to China. I still find the laxer regulation scary though. I still remember the melamine-tainted infant formula, the Cold War era chicken feet, the toxic pet food.

As others have said, it is because of the cheap labor their.China's recent growth is in fact attributable to capital investment that has made the country more productive. In other words, new machinery, better technology, and more investment in infrastructure have helped to raise output. I think the population has shifted more from agriculture to non agricultural businesses in rural areas. Also, By welcoming foreign investment, China's open-door policy has added power to the economic transformation.

But personally, I'm very cautious of everything that is coming out of China. I stop buying stuffs coming from there and I'm very choosy, specially can foods. And they can absolutely fake or imitate anything.

Plastic rice is just a myth. No one can make rice out of plastic. The so called "plastic rice" is actually heavily contaminated rice, which contains a lot of chemical and industrial residue. The chemicals present in it makes it looks like plastic.

And not all the Chinese products are bad in quality. Chinese companies such as Lennovo and Xiaomi are capable of producing high quality products.
