People have been trying for years to get them to accept crypto. It's unlikely they will pay much attention to this effort (though it never hurts). In the meantime just use Purse.io and get 15-20% off everything from Amazon.

Sounds quite impressive. Im quite sure, once amazon acceptes bitcoin and litcoin as payment method, many people will be aware of bitcoin and gradually bitcoin will grow. Sometime back i found a seller of antminer accepting bitcoin but not on amazon. He had listed his product there on amazon and was commenting people to deal privately with bitcoin. Hopefully he was a scam and amazon denied his product from amazon. Amazon should really start accepting bitcoin. it will be a good start for us. Also other sites may start accepting bitcoin as a payment method seeing amazon.

Now this is something that I am really going o get behind. There are a lot of things from Amazon that I have been mulling about getting, and something like this would be great to be able to make use of to be completely honest. I'll get around to signing it sometime, I've never really been a fan of change.org but this might convince me otherwise. I'll mull over it but the 1.6k supporters is pretty impressive to say the least. I'll make that a +1 sometime.

Maybe they do not want to add more manpower and technology from the existing one and maybe they are aware of the problem of very long time to confirm payment, but I;m also hoping that they do accept bitcoin and other crypto currency besides bitcoin, litecoin is also a good choice .

It seems odd if amazon do not want to adopt bitcoin and even other altcoin, in outline bitcoin is very useful for the progress of a country and even company. Maybe amazon stuck negative news bitcoin and have not found a real positive impact. Able to move their intention to adopt it. But once they know the amazing thing from bitcoin, there will be a furor over there and send a petition to receive it.

I read somewhere that Amazon is looking to create its own crypto, someone have heard anything about this?
Signed the petition, but I do not think Amazon would be adding cryptocurrencies as a payment option soon. 1. Volatility. 2. Lack of users. 3. Legality. If more countries start legalising bitcoin then Amazon might start accepting it. 4. Amazon coins. Amazon Coin is a digital payment method created by Amazon.com. Currently, the coins can only be used to purchase software for Kindle, Kindle Fire, and Android devices from within an app or from the Amazon Appstore. Amazon has called Amazon Coins a "virtual currency". However, the Coins operate like other digital gift cards. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_CoinThe functioning of Amazon Coin is similar to that of digital gift cards, but the concept is that of a digital currency so Amazon might consider bitcoin if the above three points change somewhat in the future, but for the time being I guess they are working on expanding their own digital currency. If Amazon accepts bitcoin then it would be one of the best things to happen to bitcoin.

Last time I checked, amazon doesn't even accept PayPal.
Back when I was implementing bitcoin/litecoin payments for some companies, they all ended up having me remove it due to the volatility. They simply didn't like that they could accept a payment one day and later when they converted it to USD, they had lost money. Maybe some systems have improved from that aspect since then but that was the case at that point.

They should give the sellers the option to accept Bitcoin as payment method, but for some reason they don't allow it... And if they don't allow it, it's not an online petition what will make them change their opinion.
Maybe they are against a currency which is hard to track, pseudo anonymous as Bitcoin is.

If bitcoin will be consistent on the things that we are already seeing in bitcoin then it is very possible for amazon to accept bitcoin, litecoin and any kind of good cryptocurrency to their market or website because the cryptocurrencies now are proving that they are not hyped money and they are real and it have a great goal in the future.

I agree with you. Definitely they should let the seller accept it, they could then ask their 'cut' in USD and the seller would be happy with his coins!

BitCoin will rock Mount Everest if that happens, and LTC will definitely become the second big crypto and certainly will compete bitcoin at coinmarketcap because its transactions could be faster and cheaper. Lets see the outcome of the petition, but sooner or later, I think one of the crypt currencies are gonna made it to these giant eCommerce portals.

I think Amazon is waiting for something that is why they are not accepting it yet. Either way, we just need to wait for their feedback.

I don't think they would accept bitcoins right now. Maybe in the future. The current problem with bitcoins are that it is currently slow (when you have low fees), expensive (because of fees), volatile (as fuck, which is not ideal for any business even with the possibility of price appreciation), and there are not that much users.

A lot of people says Amazon would not accept Bitcoin because of some particular reasons. Amazon needs to think twice in accepting Bitcoin especially now that the price is increasing and really has a bright future ahead. The Bitcoin they hold today would be greater and more valuable in the future. Early birds surely will gain benefits and edge.

Well, it is about time Amazon accepted Bitcoin. Such petitions have been put forward many times in the past. I don't see how this is going to be any different. I have grown numb to such petitions. At the moment I use this website for my online purchases: https://purse.io/It offers 5% to, at times, 20% of everything on Amazon when you use Bitcoin to check out. I still do not understand how they make any profit. The only plausible result for the organisation would be a loss. It is a great work that they are doing in promoting Bitcoin. But, it is necessary for mega-sites like eBay and Amazon to accept Bitcoin as a standard form of payment. It would be a huge boost for Bitcoin.
