Crashes came several times. We saw it dropping to 1-handle. But check it the next day.

About 300m capital in ICOs have eth locked up, coming weeks they will be teleased
The ico people will have to sell big part of their eth to fund development
The network issues removed the payment use case of eth.
Because of the price drop last week, no eager masses flow in anymore; the usd/eur volumes have dropped a lot.
Of course i do not know what the future will offer. All iknow: eth is riskier than a week ago. Do your homework.

I agree with OP, I am not very pessimistic about ether and I don't think it will die out or something. But I feel like its' bull run is nearly over. Just couple more months.
