Considering Google just invested $40 million into Bitcoin, it wouldn't be surprising if they were next to pull the trigger and start accepting it.

Speculation or not, fake or not, this is an important thing about the adoption of bitcoin in online shopping. Even as a rumor. We all believe bitcoin will be accepted by one of the biggest online stores. Let it be Alibaba.

Maybe this will make a big impact on the entire shopping platform. Also this will help more usage of cryptocurrencies. Recently heard a news that alibaba is with plans of implementing their own token similar to cryptocurrencies that can be used through alipay.
yes the impact will really will be better on online shopping and business of merchants as Alibaba is a bigger platform for merchants.
It is awesome to hear that Alibaba is doing that it can easy for us to buy shopping online easily. If we didn't transaction of our BTC into other currency then it's better to shopping online in Alibaba.Great job done by Alibaba.

Once the majority of the worlds biggest retailers accept bitcoin more and more people will consider using it too and that will speed up adoption. We need to be careful however as it will only create more congestion in the network, and I hope scaling solutions come fast.

Alibaba should be the next global giant to accept Bitcoin according to 4,500 participants in a survey this week.

52 percent of respondents to the survey by Digital Currency Group creator Barry Silbert believe the Chinese marketplace is next in line to embrace the virtual currency.

Other options included Amazon (31 percent) and Google (12 percent), while only five percent of those answering on Twitter believed Facebook would be the first of the group to get serious about Bitcoin. According to Barry Silbert

These surveys have happened many many times with heaps of vendors like Ebay, Amazon and other online giants. I am not expecting Alibaba to accept Bitcoin any time soon, but with the recent issues with Japan and Google investing 40 million, I would doubt that bitcoin is starting to pick up the pace and maybe Alibaba will open the floodgates for bitcoin. The future for bitcoin seems very promising.

Even if this is just a poll, it's a solid proof that bitcoin is starting to penetrate more industry giants. This really can happen in the future because if there's a huge request from customers to implement bitcoins as a payment then there's no doubt that those company will follow. Remember the famous companies' policy "customer is always right".

The Chinese market is really taking over the world. If Alibaba does this genuinely before Amazon, then they will really change the game of online shopping

I really hope so. Amazon is killing librarians and does not even accept something as mainstream as PayPal. It is finally time for them to either adapt or die !

I'm totally agree with you by this because Alibaba is cheap online shopping they don't even have a better technology but i don't know why they are too much famous guess this is great step for Alibaba and they will be more establish by this step. So it can be easy for them to use bitcoin with fiat money.

At least put a question mark in the title of the thread, it sounds like a confirmation when in fact after reading the op we realize this is nothing but speculation coming from the public it is not like Alibaba has given any statement regarding the acceptance of bitcoin.

What's going on with these click-bait titles that are starting to spread around the forum ??

The titles means that alibaba is planning to accept btc. Only to enter and find ouot that it was just a result of a survey. Sad
