When I saw title of thread, I thought, is it April 1st joke in the end of June? But it's only clickbait at it's finest. And signature spammers already started their work after reading heading and not whole article Cheesy
But that Google invested into Blockchain.info is also serious news. Looks that Google believe in bitcoin and that Google invested into one of the major bitcoin related company prooves it. Well, $40 million is nothing for Google, but at least their attitude to bitcoin isn't negative.

WRONG News!

Please be serious, read the article. Publishing fake news doesn't help BTC. An investment firm related to Google has invested in blockchain.info, but that company remains independent.
Yeah i guess too this is not true there are many reasons and i don this that blockchain will sell it because they know and they already getting a great amount of money and already increasing this money and the technology is already a great thing in the future.

This only further proves that bitcoin is here to stay and big players are taking it increasingly serious. Good for them, but im not interested in online wallets. Looks like Blockchain.info motto is "be your own bank". But you can't be your own bank if you are giving them your private keys... they are being the bank.

Download Bitcoin Core and run a full validating node, that is how you are your own bank. Everything else is an imitation of that.
Lol why are you now fishing from unclear waters? do I really need to download 120GB of data which is increasing every day in order to fully validate the whole blockchain? why would I do that when never all the miners would scam me by working against me, only if I hold millions of Bitcoins I'd need a full node even then I could spread them among several addresses and never transact very large amounts to fear for losing it since I'm not running a full node, yet again if I do run a full node then miners could refuse to include my TX, running a full node has no advantage for non miners

Why would google want blockchain.info maybe for the daily clicks and visits? or maybe they are going to keep providing yet another free application.
Google couldn't gain anything from a decentralized currency unless they were holding a large percentage of the coins.
Stop spreading false information you ETH whores. lol

http://www.c[Suspicious link removed]m/2017/06/22/bitcoin-wallet-startup-blockchain-raises-40-million-from-google-richard-branson.html
A quick look into the link and even reading the article suggest otherwise that  blockchain.info is being bought by Google what happen is just raising capital from individuals and companies that believes in the project and as a worthy if note, its normal for companies to raise capital in other to meet current challenge and blockchain.info doing so is not out of the ordinary and also a testament to the durability of bitcoin like someone have rightlg stated.

Geez, OK, I get your point but please use more punctuation. That was 3 lines of trying to understand your message.

I just tried to search in google if this news is true and there is no article or even news from my the sites that i often get some updates. If blockchain was bought by the company called google then it will become a very big news in the internet and a lot of people are already talking about it but it seems a false news and just a misleading title in here. I think you need to change your title into something real.

Read the article....there were just a few people who invested in blockchain.info.  No ownership has been transferred and no supervisory boards have been impacted....there was no hostile takeover, leadership replacements, or policy changes....The investments actually have no significance other than showing public support for the technology.

It can always be a purchase by proxy you know, you never really have to "buy" anything if you're a big enough company yet still want to get in on the business. If you just happen to invest enough in the RND team of a company, suddenly they're giving information to you as well, weird how that just seems to work.

It's close enough to a "purchase" without actually being one. $40M is not a small number, but it may be inflated based on the current market for information services.

Why is this a great news? were you all waiting for big names such as google to step in and popularize Bitcoin? if you want to hear these sorts of news to form a smile on your face telling yourself, yay we're going to moon. Bitcoin should be perceived as exactly what it is and what it can do, waiting for google to adopt it just to make the price rise would be a fake value.

Crypto is going mainstream.

This is the last call to get cheap BTC, ETH, or any crypto really.

We have now passed the rubicon.
Yeah totally cryptocurrencies are overtaking the market now and some countries in the world now, maybe its a good time to hoard some big altcoins for future storing and for profits, they are pretty cheap right now

It is really a misleading thread title, blockchain just invited investment from venture capitalist and this is not the first time they are doing that and this time around they raised over $40 million, that does not mean that google has anything to do with blockchain.info, Tongue the capital raised will be used mainly for research and development and they will expand to other countries, basically they are looking for expansion.

Some people who are in this forum just joke and make a title that does not make sense ,.
They are just looking for a thrill so that their thread has many readers.
Because it is very unreasonable to say that google Bought Blockchain.info.

Agree with you about this. It's very boring to read such topics. Not to say the ones that have been posted multiple times already with near the same title or spun to make it like it's new. And then we read the same posts again and again without something new. For exemple topics like
"is bitcoin used by terorrists" "is bitcoin used by ISIS" "is bitcoin used for criminal activity

Only $40 million for blockchain wallet and the buyer is google?

I think it is too small for a great and growing online wallet, Blockchain is earning way more above that $40 million a year. Why do google need to buy it though if they can make a new and self made online wallet.

Another fake news that the only intent is to boost the confidence of others, or maybe the OP just so hyped up that he post this here.

Lol. You can't own the blockchain. That's the entire point of Bitcoin so noone controls it and it is decentralized. You talking about Google centralizing the blockchain. You can see this is nonsense news I even knew it would be just reading the title. What is the point of creating this thread ? FUD ? Market control ?

Crypto is going mainstream.

This is the last call to get cheap BTC, ETH, or any crypto really.

We have now passed the rubicon.

This is true for the current situation. We need to diversify our capital into different categories before the train take off. 2k usd for bitcoin looks expensive now, but in the future, it could be a dream price.

It's always a good time to buy bitcoins !!  Grin
First of all th thread title is mistaken Google has not bought blockchain.info, an investment was made on blockchain, info by some investors that are related to Google, second you must have read the news wrong since we are not talking about the blockchain but about blockchain.info.
Both are big sites. They could be margin or acquisition but cannot buy each other. Now a days the price of blockchain is rised. If Google is willing for to buy Blockchin.info they will pay higher and google is not ready to take a risk.So it's false news.

Exactly, I just read it too and got skeptical at first but I think it could be true because everyone is diversifying his investments and I'm not totally skeptical at the moment because it could be a strategic investment by google to get into cryptocurrencies.t

It has not been bought it seems, just an investment. But i do wonder what did google get in return.

A free world that we are in control of. In the Bitcoin space since 2013.

This has been in the news about a week ago but it is far from another acquisition for Google. It is more like the investment arm of Google (and Richard Branson) helping blockchain.info with the infusion of additional capital to help them expand and offer better services on a larger scale. This is even bigger than the capital infusion that happened back in 2014. And it's all goos news, especially for those who have been using blockchain.info.
