Oh I didn't know that just read that right now. This is interesting it proves that cryptocurrencies are here and recognized by big companies.
Well hopefully the 40 million in Venture Capital will go further to develop the tech with new team members R@D and offices to promote and develop Bitcoin technology. But 1000% Year over Year growth nice metric.

Believing in Bitcoins and it's ability to change the world

Even if this news seem to be a fake, I'm not too sure it it would be a good news if Google was investing in Blockchain.info. Personnaly I rather prefere these big oger stay away from crypto world. Centralization VS decentralization .. I choose the second one!

A quick look into the link and even reading the article suggest otherwise that  blockchain.info is being bought by Google what happen is just raising capital from individuals and companies that believes in the project and as a worthy if note, its normal for companies to raise capital in other to meet current challenge and blockchain.info doing so is not out of the ordinary and also a testament to the durability of bitcoin like someone have rightlg stated.

This sort of over-hyping makes me sick. Although I will not brand this thread as fake news, it gets quite close. And it is not even clear how much stake Google Ventures brought in Blockchain.info. My guess is that it may be definitely less than 5% (more like 1% or 2%). But this stake will be quite handy, when Blockchain.info lists itself in NASDAQ in 2020 or 2021 (a wild guess).

It's not about how much is the money Developer get, it's about the future of bitcoin ecosystem. This news is the greatest one that I ever heard. Because it's mean bitcoin getting mainstream and more popular when a giant like google interested on crypto technology to invest.
Buy now as much as you can, the time will come.

This should have been posted in the Press section. Anyway, just to make this post straight to the fact. Google did not bought Blockchain.info but it is Google Ventures that is investing in it. The difference should have been cleared by now. Buying a company or a business is different from investing on it.

Nevertheless, the point here is that big venture capitalists are now convinced that cryptocurrency companies (or those providing services related to the crypto market) are now worth of their money. Since the gate is now open, I am sure that there would be more money coming in to many start-up fintech and crypto companies.

These moneyed people would not easily invest on anything without proper and due diligence and without the vision that they can really make the money they are looking for. In the coming months, expect to read more and more news along this line.

WRONG News!

Please be serious, read the article. Publishing fake news doesn't help BTC. An investment firm related to Google has invested in blockchain.info, but that company remains independent.
Yeah i guess too this new was a fake because we know that google in not interested in bitcoin maybe slightly but google was already a successful and bitcoin cannot be buy by anyone i guess bitcoin will not sell blockchain i guess because of the success.

I really don't think that this is a particularly groundbreaking news, companies all want to gain their ground in the cryptocurrency scene and it is understandable that they want to do so - after all all of us here seem to think that bitcoin is the future.

I just didn't expect that it would be google, which is the #1 site on Alexa by far.
blockchain will never be sold to company i guess. If I am the blockchain why would I sell it if profit double or triple or quadruple every year. Good thing is blockchain had a lot functions and not just bitcoin.

I think you are confusing the blockchain and blockchain.info which is the company in question here.

I think in a way it is, if big companies start to invest in bitcoin and other related crypto then that means the chances for bitcoin to attract big investments it is going to go up and with that the price will skyrocket which will be good news for all of us.

This thread is an example of pure "Click bait" nonsense that are being spread to create confusion. CNBC is not a big fan of Bitcoin and possibly a shill site for the Fiat system. Most of the articles I have seen, that were posted on their site, was negative towards Bitcoin. Blockchain.info just used a company linked to Google to get some funding to expand their operation and this company operates independently from Google. ^grrrrrrrr^

Definitely change the subject title, still good news for Blockchain.info to have raised the invested which includes an investment arm of Google and also Richard Branson, I am more impressed by the fact that Richard Branson is included to be honest.

From this news, we all can rest assured that bitcoin is here, and to stay for a long time ! Of course big companies will start to see bitcoin as an asset and invest in it, or start new services with bitcoin onboard, and that will give bitcoin a rise  to it's value, and from that also more people will start using them, making bitcoin a very high demanding asset
